It’s very strange too me that Young Jeezy has been delaying his album “Thug Motivation 103.” He has delayed it so many times and I do not understand his process. He has put out four mixtapes since the release of “The Recession” and has promised in numerous interviews that “TM103” album is coming. There is currently no release date for the album.
He should go ahead and release “TM103” because he has release great mixtapes such as “Trappin Ain’t Dead, “Trap or Die 2”, and of course “The Last laugh.” The “1000 Gram” mixtape wasn’t really received well by internet. Jeezy went mainstream, on the mixtape by rapping on mainstream songs and not being creative on the mixtape. In all honesty Jeezy could have released “The Last Laugh as an album. The mixtape was produced by the hottest producer in the south “Shawty Redd.”The mixtape was impressive and was had plenty of anthems on it.
Understanding Jeezy is very difficult because he has his expectations to high. He should have released his album after the single “Lose My Mind” was blazing in every hood. Jeezy must wasn’t satisfied with the Billboard chart numbers. “Lose My Mind was a great single and was the perfect time to release “TM103.” “Trap Or Die 2 and “The Last Laugh” were critically acclaim mixtapes and gave Jeezy the buzz he needed for that time.
Jeezy may of gotten enviousof Rick Ross when his single “BMF” starts to rocket up the Billboard Charts. But the beef between Ross and Jeezy is fake because Rick Ross has spoken with former “BMF” leader and he has given Rick Ross his blessing. The “Summers Mine” track by Rick Ross was definitely directed at Jeezy but my theory is Def jam has both guys going at each other for record sales and promotion. Think about this Jeezy and Ross engage in a beef right, and they (Def Jam) knows bloggers will choose sides. And Both guys know the former “BMF” leader.Jeezy and Ross both talk secretly most likely. Remember the Joe Budden and Saigon beef? Saigon admitted that the beef was fake, and was for promo. Jeezy and Ross are on Def Jam so whoever increases in record sales and etc. It’s a win for the label and Rick Ross has benefited from it because his album “Teflon Don” out at the time and his revenue and status in the game have elevated since. His album is now certified Gold and Jeezy will have his time to shine Jeezy will not go platinum like previous LP’s but he will be just as successful as Rick Ross.Record Sales have dwindled so much that I highly doubt he will sell a million.
Jeezy thinks that holding out builds more anticipation but it may prove to be his enemy. Look at Lloyd banks for example, he waited four years to put out an album and only sells fourth thousand first week. Every single Banks released did well on the charts with all of his singles and still managed to sell forty thousand first week. But on the flipside he is independent, and there are many loopholes being independent. And Jeezy is a great rapper and all but fans change over the years and this may prove why his previous album “The Recession” sold less than his first two. But selling 500,000 is now gold in these times so Jeezy should release his album now. Because his last album “The Recession” sold 260,000 first week and I highly doubt his next LP generates first week numbers like those. Who knows, but my overall predication is 600,000 copies over a year in the end.
