Grim Batol is one of the dungeons you’ll find in Cataclysm and that you will need to learn how to navigate your way through. You will easily find the entrance to Grim Batol in the mountains of the western part of the Twilight Highlands. Grim Batol is a suggested level 85 dungeon with 4 bosses and is also available on heroic mode.
General Umbriss will be your first encounter in this dungeon and he is dragonkin. He has two main attacks which are Blitz and Ground Siege. Blitz targets a random party member to charge at and Ground Siege shakes the ground around him.
Forgemaster Throngus is a tank and spank fight. He will randomly switch weapons during battle and he has three possible choices, which are Mace, Duel Blades and Phalanx. During Phalanx you need to attack from behind Forgemaster Throngus or you will do very little damage to him.
Drahga Shadowburner is a three part fight but still relatively simple. During the first portion your goal is to get Drahga’s health as low as possible. After a certain amount of time he will jump off the edge and onto a massive drake which starts part two. You then need to dps Valiona, the drake, until she states she will not die for Drahga, at which time she drops him off her back and flies away. The third part is focusing back on Dragha Shadowburner until he dies. The add you will be facing is a cast called Invocations of Flame. These will pick one target and slowly move towards them. If their target is reached, they’ll explode leaving massive damage on everyone.
The last boss you’ll encounter is Erudax and his Faceless Guardians. This fight is a bit more challenging than the rest. Every so often Erudax will cast Shadow Gale. This attack will cause a void somewhere on the floor where all party members need to stack in the middle. This time the void is good, it will protect you from a massive AoE.
When Shadows Gale finishes, Erudax will summon a Faceless Guardian. This guardian will come into the room and try to hatch some of the eggs around the outer ring of the room. It’s crucial to down this add before the eggs hatch or you will have additional, un-killable whelp adds. Between these attacks you will also encounter Binding Shadows and Enfeebling Blow.
Binding Shadows is an immobilizing effect causing the target to me bound where they stand until the debuff wears off but they can still cast. Enfeebling Blow will only affect the tank of your group. This is a knock back cast that will debuff your tank. This debuff increases damage taken by 200 percent for 5 seconds.
