Valentine’s Day is a day of love and romance. This is a special day to acknowledge that bond of trust and love.
Sharing a bottle of wine makes this evening much more magickal and enjoyable. Wine has a way of heightening the sense of passion and emotion through taste and scent. It is through the aroma that wine is tasted.
Some scents of wine trigger the human pheromones. When pheromones are emitted, the scent of the wine passes through the nose which signals attraction to the brain and ignites the spirit. This can make your special occasion, a night of relaxation and romance.

2. Don Sebatiani and Sons
Smoking Loon Cabernet Sauvignon is $5.97 a bottle. This Cabernet is a mouthful for the price. It has a full enough body, a smooth and creamy finish, without the guilt of price. A very well balanced wine with lasting finish. Smoking Loon is 94 percent Cabernet and 6 percent Syrah which gives this wine a dark, fruity look and a spicy flavor. This is a great red wine to drink in between the more expensive bottles.

3. Hess Winery
Cabernet Sauvignon is $14.99 a bottle. This wine has lots of spice. It has a fruity profile of bing cherry and with the black Napa fruit, the addition adds structure and cassis flavors. This wine has a great body, is full flavored and is reasonably priced, as it holds it’s own compared to $40.00 bottles of wine. A must have in your collection.
This winery is a great place to visit. There is a nice walkway with a garden, outside patio and a long rectangular gold fish pond. The ivy climbs along the outside walls. A very picturesque setting. The estate has three floors.
Off season is a little more private of a tour. It is a bit more crowded during peak season. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the wine and it’s region. For $10.00 you can taste 4 different types of wine. For those underage and cannot participate in the wine tasting, there is a gallery on the third floor, which is actually the owner’s private art collection.
