Despite The Rock promising the WWE Universe that he would never leave the WWE, many people speculate that he will be gone after WrestleMania 27. Many blogs online argue that he has nothing to prove after WrestleMania 27. Most likely he will be in a singles match against Cena, or a triple threat against Miz and Cena at WM 27. I’m not concerned on who wins the match in the end to be totally honest. I’m concerned if The Rock rides off into the sunset once again.
Seeing The Rock back in a WWE ring conducting an incredible promo in 2011 stills seems like a dream to me. It will always be remembered as a classic moment, but there are also some concerns I’ve have. I hope Rocky was being 100% truthful when he meant that he would never leave the WWE again. Maybe he meant never leaving the WWE in a different way. I was under the impression that he was giving up his movie career for good and was going to end his career as a wrestler. I hope that proves to be true, but a lot of speculating has went on lately. Jim Ross, the unofficial voice of WWE has already given his take on the situation.
“I have no idea what Rock’s plans are as they relate to WWE after WM27. I haven’t given it much thought but many fans are seemingly obsessed in knowing what the Rock’s plans are for the future. I don’t see Rock emotionally ever leaving the WWE Universe but I also don’t see him appearing as a ‘˜regular’ on WWE programming in the future either which is why this Wrestlemania event is so intriguing and is such a must see pay per view. We are attending the event AND buying and taping the PPV.”
Like I’ve stated in previous articles, Jim Ross is still employed with the WWE and has some sources somewhere. I hope The Rock doesn’t begin to do sporadic appearances and just disappears again after WM 27. For seven long years we as WWE fans have had to witness the good and bad in WWE. We’ve seen great matches and storylines, but many of these guys lack boldness and creativity on the mic. The Rock seems to have the creativity that no one in wrestling history has. There have been great moments in the WWE, but not electrifying moments that Rocky created in the past. I don’t care if he becomes a GM or etc; I just want him to remain in the WWE. The Rock knows that the majority of the WWE Universe is grateful for his return and hopes he doesn’t ever leave again like he promised. We know he is a movie star and loves to film movies. He didn’t have to make that promise to stay for good, but he may have made a mistake by saying that.
