Weight Watchers one of the leading weight management and food empires along with being the developers for “four pillars of healthy weight loss”. Just recently surprised its vast forces of followers when they had upgraded and revamped there greatly popular points system.
The system was brought to light thirteen years ago and never was altered. It had become a tremendous success for not only the company but for over thousands who have shed unwanted pounds with great success.
Now their new dieting system PointsPlus has been revealed. The new system according to the company aims to guide people to greater healthier and satisfying foods. Weight Watchers states that this new system will aide dieters to make realizations such as an apple of 100 calories is far better choice than a bag of potato chips at 100 calories.
This brand new system will concentrate more on fruits and vegetables which carry zero points whereas, dried fruits and starchy vegetables such as potato’s still carry points.
Karen Miller Kovach, chief science officer of weight watchers states the company has gained more knowledge regarding weight management since the start of the points program. It was time to revamp. They have just translated the new science into a liveable system.
The new weight management science adds in how the energy contained in each component of a calorie and how much effort the body needs to use in order to process each calorie.
David Kirchhoff, president and CEO of weight watchers international outlined the new look on the companies website.
In his statement, Mr. Kirchhoff, the new company allows them to step in front and into the future. The company is taking a stand for unprocessed foods, fruits and vegetables. They acknowledge the requirement for flexibility in indulgences but are making them in a smarter way.
Some of weight watchers followers are expressing concerns over this new revision.
Kate A. Mach, a teacher in Allentown, Pennsylvanian, had noted as an example, if you are attending a party you have no idea what kind of food will be served. She personally has no idea what she can or cannot enjoy because the new system is not clear. You would have to take a break, go some place and look up the points on Weight Watchers mobile.
Another Weight Watchers follower Ann Yoo, from New York, had left the program after years of sticking to the former point system. She is considering returning in hopes it will aide in maintaining her weight. On Weight Watchers a couple years ago she did lose weight from 198 pounds to 160 pounds.
Ms. Yoo continues to state she thinks the new program will be wonderful because people will realize you receive your points from something healthier. She believes it will have people going to meetings or joining online. She believes this newly developed system and new concentration on nutrition and health is a step in the right direction for the program.
