Most of us who have seen the Tron: Legacy movie know that Tron: Evolution is a video game based on the events happening before the events of the Tron: Legacy movie. I had extreme difficulty just playing this game, the controls were very confusing. I did get the hang of things and then eventually beat the game.
I enjoyed the whole storyline, it actually connected with the movie enough that I actually thought it was worth playing. The connection with the purge of the ISOs and Corra being a survivor is explained further by this video game. You play as a mysterious character known as, Anon… I believe this is the same character Sam Flynn fought in the finals in the battle grids.
I appreciate the idea of extending to the video game fan base, but I believe a prequel movie would have been much better. So, as far as creativity, I don’t think it delivered.
I always like a challenge, but to the degree that I am cussing and going crazy on my controller, that tends to make me feel like I am wasting my own time with none of the satisfaction. Like I said though, I did get used to the controls. But, because it was too confusing, the rating on gameplay is it’s lowest rating point.
Regardless of my opinion on the controls, I do recommend this video game who wants to see what happens before the events of Tron: Legacy.
