Quickfire Challenge: The chefs from the same season create a dish together that exemplifies the city that their season was held in. The winning team gets immunity, and the chefs have 25 minutes to plan and prepare their meal.
Season 1’s chefs make a seafood cioppino in homage to San Francisco.
Season 2’s chefs make a shrimp taco in honor of L.A.
Season 3’s chefs were inspired by Miami, and made a pork tenderloin with Latin flavors.
Season 4’s chefs make a deconstructed Chicago-style hot dog with mustard ice cream.
Season 5’s chefs make a Big Apple-inspired meal of apple-flavored pasta, soup, and apple-slaw smothered ribeye.
Season 6’s chefs create an old-school Italian meal in honor of Las Vegas’ legendary mob-run casinos.
Season 7’s chefs make a D.C.-inspired crab cake with rockfish.
Quickfire Winner: Season 4’s Chicago team nails it.
Elimination Challenge: Prepare the dish that sent you home last time, making only slight adjustments to the basic concept. The dishes are judged by the other All-Star contestants, dining alongside with judges Gail Simmons, Tom Colicchio, Padma Lakshmi, and Anthony Bourdain. The winner will receive $10,000.
Spike, Jamie, Richard, and Angelo are the judge’s favorites. Richard went over the time limit for plating, and so while the judges loved his dish, we wasn’t eligible for the win, and gets sent back to the stew room.
Winner: Angelo’s homemade ramen.
Bottom Three: Fabio, Stephen, and Elia. Elia’s fish was undercooked, Stephen’s proportions were off in all his dishes, and Fabio gets into a fight with Bourdain over the merits of his stew.
Who Gets Eliminated?: The first chef eliminated this season is Elia.
Coming This Season: Jimmy Fallon, the Muppets from Sesame Street, Paula Deen, and some sort of tennis match. It’s gonna be an epic season.
