Are you sick of having to plug your phone into the wall every day? You may want to consider one of the following docks for your phone. Smartphone docks may have many features including more convenient charging, music playback, and more. Below, I will list ten of the best docks on the market.
1. Lapdock for Motorola Atrix
Every time I see the commercial for this product, I wish all smartphones would be able to use this dock. The Lapdock is by far the most advanced dock on the market. It is in the form of a laptop with an 11.6 inch screen, a full keyboard, and HD graphics. It is extremely thin and allows you to dock your Atrix through the back. The coolest part? The computer is your cellphone. Motorola has installed a custom OS on the Atrix that allows you to use it with the Lapdock as a laptop. It even charges your phone will doing so. With all these great features, there is only one con: the price. For the price of the Lapdock, you could buy a cheap netbook. It runs at around $500.

2. Powermat Charging Mat
The Powermat charging mat is a revolution in charging. It allows consumers to charge their phones without plugging them in. Powermats are available in many varieties including the three position mat for $62.95 on Amazon. Powermats are extremely convenient because you simply place your phone on the mat to let it charge. While Powermat is one of the most popular companies, there are many other brands of these charging stations. There is one major con to these however. Powermats require that you shield your phone in one of their ugly, overpriced cases when using it.

3. iHome Dual FM Radio Alarm Clock For iPhone
A personal favorite of mine, the iHome iPhone dock is a very convenient dock. Not only does it charge your phone, but it will also allow you to play your iPod music through its speakers. It even has a built in FM radio. It also has a built in alarm clock and LCD that displays the current date and time. This dock is available at most electronic stores for around $90 to $100.

4. Perch Bluetooth Smartphone Dock
The Perch combines style with convenience. It includes a dock and tray to place you phone on while charging and Bluetooth wireless speaker that is attached. The speaker can be removed and placed where you desire. The Perch dock is available for preorder for $180. While this dock will definitely impress your friends, it seems foolish to spend as much money on a dock as you did on the device it is charging.

6. ReVIVE Series Rechargeable Power Boost
Okay, this one isn’t exactly a dock, but it can be used as an alternative to a dock. The ReVIVE power boost is a battery pack that allows charging to any USB device. The thing that impressed me was the way you could recharge this battery pack: the sun. This battery back can be charged with solar power. It saves energy and money. It is currently being offered on Amazon for only $20.

I placed this dock on the list out of creativity. The Griffin Party Dock has not released yet, but when it does, it will most likely have a large impact on the gaming market. The Griffin Party Dock is designed for the iPhone and iPod Touch. It includes a dock and four remotes that can be used for gaming. The Party Dock plugs your phone into your TV allowing a console-like gaming experience. When it is released, games will be released that are designed to work with this dock.

8. Tom Tom Car Kit
The Tom Tom car kit may be one of the best car docks designed for use with the iPhone. Not only does it include a car charger, but it also includes a GPS booster and a speaker that can be used for turn-by-turn directions and hands-free calling. You can even plug an AUX cable into it to play your music through your car speakers. This dock was meant to be used with the Tom Tom Navigation app and is available for around $100.

9. Vestalife Ladybug II
The Vestalife Ladybug is a portable dock designed for the iPhone and iPod Touch. It has an extremely convenient design that allows it to be collapsed into an orb when not in use. When you want to use it, you simply open it, and it reveals a dock equipped with speakers. You can even plug it into your computer to sync your iPhone. The Vestalife Ladybug is available for around $70. Many consumers have complained about the bass system, so this may not be your desired dock if you are looking for a good bass system.

10. Sang-Hoon Lee’s iPod Dock Light
This dock was created for the iPhone and iPod and was meant to be used in the bedroom. It has an extremely convenient design packing a light, dock, and speakers into one unit. The design is elegant and simple, hiding the speakers on the side of this dock. This dock was meant to save space while allowing consumers to have a dock and a light by their bedside.
