First of all you have to be more realistic about yourself. As a mom you don’t want to let down anyone and you always do your best to meet the needs of everyone around you keeping your needs aside. As a new mom we often struggle to ensure the satisfaction of our needs. But let me give you few tips that might be of great help to you.
Keep up with the pace. We live in a fast world, where anything that takes over five minutes is considered too long. But our babies don’t move that fast so as a new mom, keep up the pace to your baby. Don’t keep a lot of things to do. Just focus on your needs and that of the baby.
Make sure you get enough sleep. It is much better to sleep whenever your baby sleeps so that you can be fresh to take care when the baby wakes up. Don’t worry about things, rest is what you need, don’t do household work when your baby is sleeping. Your focus should be only your baby.
As a new mom it is obvious that you would be more concerned about baby, but make sure you give at least an hour to yourself to relax. Read some books or talk to friends or just enjoy the fresh air outside. Taking care of yourself is very important so that you can take good care of your baby.
Another advice would be to try and make other new moms as friends. There are social groups for new moms and babies, and if you take time to make connections with people that are going though similar situations like you, it would help a lot. Like they can help to take care of your baby and you can do the same for them, and that ensures you all get enough rest. Just the fact that you get to know that you are not the only one going through exhaustion would make you feel much better.
A very important thing for you to focus on is food. Eat well and eat such food that would give you more energy and don’t eat such food which has high fat or sugar content as it can make you feel more tired and add up to exhaustion.
Add more fresh vegetables and fruits to your diet and if you get into a strong desire to have some junk food, don’t stop yourself but just make sure you don’t get into a habit.
Ignoring exhaustion is not the solution, as it can put you into a lot of health issues in the future. So it is better to manage exhaustion and keep it in low levels. Taking good care of yourself and keeping expectations to the lowest, would help a lot in your way to overcome exhaustion.
