The Creator gifted this world with a plethora of amazingly colourful creatures. Among the most dazzling are the following:
1. The Lesser Flamingo
The fabulous pink coloring of these birds comes from the pigment in the algae that they eat. They are primarily found in Africa, but are also present in India and southern Spain.
2. The Clownfish
These sea-dwellers can have red, orange, or yellow bands edged with black, alternating with white stripes or patches around their bodies. The slime which covers them protects them from the sting of the anemone, among which they live. They can found in shallow waters around the coasts of Malaysia and southeast Asia and also in the Red Sea.
3. The Monarch Butterfly
Its glorious colors are a warning to predators, because its colorful wings are poisonous if eaten. It can be found in eastern North America, south of Hudson Bay, and it migrates to South America in the winter. It can also be found in Hawaii and Australia.
4. The Panther Chameleon
This relatively large chameleon species can change color in accordance with the environment, light, temperature, even mood. Its natural habitat is in the humid regions of Madagascar and the islands of Reunion and Mauritius.
5. The Blue-footed Booby
The feet of the males range from pale turquoise to deep aquamarine. The females are attracted to the males with the brightest feet. It lives on the open sea except when it is breeding. It ranges from the Gulf of California south to Peru.
6. Temminick’s Tragopan
Believed to be the most handsome pheasant, this bird has white spotted plumage on a red and orange background, pink legs and a black bill. It boasts a striking quiff in shades of red, white and blue. It is found in eastern India, southern and central Asia and central China.
7. The Bird of Paradise
The male of the species has elongated and colorful plumage with which it attracts the female. These beautiful birds are found in dense, humid rain forests, or other woodland or wetland areas in New Guinea and nearby islands, Indonesia, northern Australia and the Moluccas Islands.
. The Sailfish
These fish have blue stripes which light up when they go hunting. This characteristic confuses their prey and alerts their group to their activity. The large fin in their backs (the sail) is usually folded, but will be raised when the fish feels excited or threatened. They are found on all Florida coasts, although they are most plentiful on the Atlantic side, and also around the Bahama and Caribbean Islands.
9. The Sockeye Salmon
Usually blue and silver, these fish turn red and green just before spawning. They are found mainly in the northern Pacific Ocean, and the rivers which discharge into it.
10. The Weedy Sea Dragon
This is a distant relative of the seahorse. They have elongated bodies and bright colors which provides excellent camouflage. The female produces about 250 eggs which the male then cares for. It is found along the southern and western coasts of Australia.
