With the year rapidly coming to a close we now take a moment to look back at the top 5 laptop computers of 2010. The ranking of our choices for the top laptops of 2010 were made based on user reviews and feedback from multiple source sites and professional reviews from such trusted resources as C-Net and Amazon.
We took a look at price, functionality and feedback to determine which laptops would make our top 5 list and looked at laptops with both the Apple Operating System and the Windows Operating system. Given that most laptop’s share about the same types of peripherals, almost all laptops of 2010 came with DVD drives, USB’s etc., we decided to focus on price, display and functionality.
Not surprisingly the Apple MacBook Pro MC374LL/A 13.3-inch Laptop came in at number one. The Apple MacBook spent an unprecedented 230 days in the top ten list of laptops as rated by users holding top spots on Amazon and Cnet. With its super-bright LED backlight screen and the world famous stability of the Apple OS is it no wonder that this beauty came in at number one?
Next on our top 5 list of laptops for 2010 is the Toshiba Satellite L505. With a remarkably affordable price, 15.6 inch display with a 720p native high definition resolution it is the perfect blend of performance for price and has spent over 155 days in the list of the top 10 laptops for the year.
As much as I hate to admit it Hewlett Packard has come a long way over a short period of time and did an outstanding job with the HP Pavillion DV6 making it at number 3 on our top 5 lists of laptops for 2010. What most impressed us was the amazing four and a half hour battery life powering a unbelievably rich multimedia experience on a 15.6″ super bright LED display featuring an incredible 1366×768 display resolution with 1,696MB of total graphic memory. Pretty impressive for a Laptop!
As much as we love our next pick, we could not give it a higher rating due to its pretty steep price tag. But given its performance and its unbelievable 18.4 inch display we just had to include the Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q893 TruBrite Laptop on out top five list. With its 1680 x 945 native resolution (HD) with native support for 720p content, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M with 1.5GB GDDR5 discrete graphics memory this laptop is a traveling home theater. Its only downside is its size and its price tag, but if you just have to have the ultimate in portable multimedia this is your laptop of choice!
The last choice to make our list of top 5 laptops of 2010 is the Acer AS5742Z 15.6 inch laptop. With an amazing price of only $484.99 at the time of this publication and a 5 star rating from its users this just might be the perfect computer for your young ones. The price of this laptop is the most affordable of the bunch and the Acer offers a cinematic brilliant 15.6 inch HD cinecrystal widescreen LCD dispay with a built in webcam. This is definitely not the power house of the bunch, but if you are looking for an affordable option that can handle almost any task thrown at it then this just might be your option; especially if you are looking for a gift for the younger members of the family.
