The Real Housewives of the Atlanta – Season 3 Finale

by tree pony

Sticking with their usual recipe of surprising career choices, break-ups, make-ups and raised voices, last night’s season finale of The Real Housewives of Atlanta was anything but boring. “The Bride and the Doom,” was all about the making and breaking of relationships.

Diva-licious
Lawrence, or rather, Ms. Lawrence, may just be the biggest news coming out in Atlanta. Although it’s obvious that Ms. Lawrence has been out of the closet for a while, last night [s]he jumped off the chart when he debuted his first single, “Closet Freak,” written for him by Kandi. Ms. Lawrence rocked it in a performance that would have made RuPaul proud. All of the Housewives showed up to support Ms. Lawrence, and despite all their left-handed support of each other’s endeavors this season, it was clear they were all on board to support the new queen of pop. I think Lawrence should join the ATL cast next season as the newest Housewife.

A License, a Lie and a Little Secret
Even if you haven’t followed the Housewives of ATL faithfully all season, you were probably wondering, along with the rest of us, if the nuptials between Cynthia and Peter would ever take place. Thanks to the beyond-meddling duo of Cynthia’s sister, Malorie, and mom, Barbara, Peter almost didn’t get his bride, when the girls played a little game of hide the license. Cynthia, who by her own admission, should be nicknamed the runaway bride, cried for a straight week prior to the ceremony. And although Cynthia sparkled in her platinum wedding gown, the real star of this wedding should have been the makeup artist. It’s not easy to cover up puffy eyes, let alone make them look stunning. Kim showed up at the wedding with her beau, Kroy, and a bottle of white wine. She was afraid that since Cynthia was freaking about a lack of money, she might not have good wine there. Oh, did I forget to mention that Peter failed to get the wedding rings.

I did it my way
After her stint as a fashion designer and her brief try at dancing, Sheree now finds herself ensconced in her latest endeavor as an actress. Last night she auditioned for a part in a movie. It was obvious Sheree’s performance evoked some real emotion from the producers, probably due in part to Sheree not only reciting the lines as Sheree, and not the character, but by adding some of her own interpretation to the script. Once Sheree makes up her mind, there’s really no changing it, no matter what protocol calls for. I don’t think she’s getting called back.

Relief from Stress and Aggravation Through Breast Augmentation
After NeNe’s communication breakdown with her husband, Greg, this season, she relieved a little of her marital stress through plastic surgery. Doesn’t everyone. After Kim’s tour with Kandi was over, Kim decided to get her boobs re-done. It just goes to show you, when the chips are down, you can always bring them back up with the help of a little silicone.

Overall this season, relationships were won and lost in Atlanta, but that’s life, and this is realty TV. Greg apologized to NeNe, Sheree remains optimistic about life, Kim “gotta man” and rocked out her hit single “Tardy for the Party” on tour with Kandi, who is still celibate and still looking for love (how that works, I’m not sure), Peter and Cynthia finally got married, Phaedra put down her baby boy and went back to work, and Kim and NeNe are no longer friends.

I can’t wait to see what happens at their reunion. Watch Andy Cohen on February 13th on the Bravo TV channel when he brings all of the girls together again, including Kandi. Hold on to your seats, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.

NeNe Leakes, Sheree Whitfield, Kim Zolciak, Phaedra Parks and Cynthia Bailey, the Housewives of ATL.
