The Golden Globes last night kicked off what is anticipated by the fashion world each year, award season. The stunning dresses and actresses dripping in diamonds is always something that many look forward too. Last night didn’t disappoint and gave every fashionista a peak at what the rest of the season will bring. So, here are my picks for the best and worst dressed at the Golden Globes this year.
Olivia Wilde– Olivia was the only actress that we saw all night wearing a ball gown, and she did it right. The chocolate brown Marchesa that she paired with edgy gold glittering Christian Louboutin shoes was gorgeous. The metallic sparkles that cascaded down the dress grabbed everybody’s attention and the simple sleek hair was on point. Great job!
Eva Longoria– Eva Longoria did what she does best; she brought the va-va-voom factor the red carpet. The black mermaid Zac Posen dress was gorgeous and showed off her tiny waist. The deep v-neck showed just enough skin to be tasteful. She brought back old Hollywood glamour at the Globes.
Anne Hathaway– Anne stunned us all in the Armani Prive bronze metallic dress. It was a beautiful gown from the front, but when she turned around, that open back was gorgeous. The hair was also on point and she looked stunning.
Megan Fox– Megan was stunningly beautiful at the Golden Globes last night. Her Armani Prive light pink dress was visually appealing with the bandages on the bodice intertwined with the silver beaded bandages. The long slit showed off her great legs. My two favorite parts of her look were the bold black eyeliner that she used on her eyes, and her nude open toe heels.
Natalie Portman– Even though people had mixed thoughts on Portman’s light pink Viktor and Rolf dress that had a red rose at the center of her bust, I loved it. Her hair was beautiful and makeup was flawless. She looked cute showing off her bump.
Heidi Klum– The multicolored Marc Jacobs dress that Heidi wore looked more like a handkerchief that was ripped and then tied in the front. The dress deserved to be on a beach somewhere in the middle of nowhere, so nobody would have to see it.
Michelle Williams– Michelle Williams showed up in a brown Valentino dress that was covered in daisies. The dress looked like it showed of been worn by a hippie flower girl, not by an actress of Michelle’s caliber. While her hair and makeup looked gorgeous, this was just not a hit on the best dressed fashion list.
Lea Michele– Lea Michele is such a petit young actress in Hollywood, that her pink Oscar De La Renta gown was just too much for her small frame. The dress which had a side train was way too much, and could have been a winner without that.
Leighton Meester– Meester showed up in a cream and silver Burberry dress that underwhelmed us. The dress with the long sleeves and high neckline was too old for such a young vivacious star. The dress would have worked better on an older actress.
Julianne Moore– Moore who was nominated in the best supporting actress category should have showed up in something befitting of her work. Instead she chooses a hot pink Lanvin gown that was sleeveless on one side and had an oddly shaped sleeve on the other arm.
