Could you tell if the man you were sleeping next to was really dreaming and fantasizing about other men? Many women think they would know, but the truth is no, you wouldn’t. Men are very good at hiding their feelings, especially when it comes to their desire for the same sex. Don’t be fooled there are a lot of men living on the “down low,” or as many call it the “DL.”
Your man could be having sex with another man, and coming home making love to you in the same night. Why? Because that is what men living on the “down low” do. They have the perfect job, perfect family, white picket fence home, but they also have the desire to be with men. The bad thing is some men think there is nothing wrong with this type of lifestyle. Why? Because they view it as just having sex with these men, nothing more and nothing less. They feel since there is no emotional attachment on their part it is condonable.
Some men seek out other “down low” men to play around with, while others find men who grow to have an emotional attachment. Just as a male and female relationship. So, what can you do when it comes to finding out whether or not your man is living on the “down low?”
First thing is first, you must become educated about what the “down low” is. It is men who front, perpetrate, or whatever you want to call it. Looking on the outside they appear to have the perfect heterosexual relationship. They may even be married, or have a long time girlfriend, but they also sleep with men.
Observe your man. He will not know you are doing it. He will not even think you suspect anything. Put on a dark pair of sunglasses and take him out. Best place to catch him checking out other men is the mall. Leave him for awhile, but keep your eye on him. You will catch him watching other men. If he is really into other men, when you are not around he will not be able to resist looking. Straight men just don’t look at other men like that period!
Does he hang out with the guys just a little too much? Sure men get together and shoot a few hoops, grab a beer, but then they head home. Because they know what is waiting for them. But is it hard to get your man to come home. Now if you are a bit of a nag he may not rush to get home. But if everything is good, and you two seem to be in love, he should be knocking down the door to get there. Does he have one particular guy friend that just rub you the wrong way? He may seem a little weird, and may call your man a little too much, like a girlfriend would call. Listen to your intuition.
Most importantly, if he is not getting it from you, you can believe he is getting it from someone else. If it doesn’t smell right, look right, or feel right, it probably is not right. Be careful you never know who is lying in bed next to you.
