You could have seen this one coming down Broadway with both doors open, as the saying goes. Camille’s dinner party was a complete disaster, and you would have to be a complete fool to think she didn’t plan it that way.
We got a sense of impending doom last week when Camille gathered her friends, er, employees around her for a good trash-talk session about the horrid Kyle. I personally loved how all Camille’s friends, er, employees spoke as if each & every one of them had been present in NYC for Kyle’s “verbal assault” on Camille. Of course, since they are Camille’s friends, er, employees, they know what side their bread is buttered on, so of course the only reason they hate Kyle is because Camille does.
Camille phones everyone & invites them over for dinner Saturday night. Kyle hesitates before accepting (do we blame her?), but says that if her friend can change her plans, then she’ll come. All of the ladies decide to go, in an effort to keep the peace & move forward, but unfortunately, keeping the peace & moving forward isn’t what Camille has in mind at all.
Camille can yell& scream all she wants that it was Kyle who came in with a plan to ruin her dinner party & verbally assaulted her, but in fact that entire fiasco was what Camille wanted in the first place, minus everyone stalking out & leaving her with a friend and a well-done medium. She gave herself away by inviting a known mean drunk AND serving booze in glasses the size of swimming pools.
Everyone was on their best behavior at first (although DD’s introduction of Allison is a bit weird, especially since Allison snots that she’s “off the clock” & doesn’t want to do any readings). Lisa & Adrienne remark that the drinks are rather strong, yet Allison slammed back hootch like it was going out of style, sucking on an electronic cigarette & acting weird even when she was still sober.
Once Camille thinks her medium is sufficiently toasted, she goes for the jugular. Kyle thus far has been gracious whenever Camille has jabbed at her, so Camille changes her tactic & goes after Kyle’s friend Faye instead. Faye hasn’t done or said anything to deserve what comes next & anything she did or said afterwards was in her own defense. Camille, in her typical fakey way, pretends she doesn’t know where she’s seen Faye before, and then decides to drop what she thinks is a bombshell by blurting out that Faye was in Playboy. Maybe this would have shocked society women decades ago, but nowadays, people are more shocked at who HASN’T been in Playboy (like, say, Camille & Kelly the Psycho from RHONY), so all this just blows back into Camille’s face.
Fortunately though, Lisa, of all people, decides to keep prodding Allison to give them a reading, & asks if her grandmother is present. Instead of saying whatever BS psychics usually do when put on the spot like that, Allison says she’ll read Kyle, but everything she said applied to Camille! Allison keeps on attacking Kyle & at some point, someone brings up what happened in NYC, and all Hell breaks loose. Everyone yelling at everyone else, Adrienne & Lisa looking uncomfortable. Kim, feeling ignored, decides now is a good time to drag Taylor into the mix, telling her to go blow up her lips some more for good measure. The yelling & screaming keeps going until Taylor puts an end to it by saying “We’re not being the ladies that we are” and walking out of the room. Adrienne & Lisa choose this time to take a powder as well. Kyle & Faye leave, while Kim takes the time to thank Camille for dinner before she does a face-plant in a wall.
After taking the time to yell at Kim in the front yard, Kyle ditches her to ride with the rest of the ladies & head off to a bar for drink to get over the madness they just escaped. Kim is left to ride home alone for two hours, singing “That’s my chicken, you’ve got my chicken” to fill the time.
Back at Camille’s, Allison keeps on & on & on like a broken record & making just about as much sense. Surprisingly, the only one who seems to have a clue what her appearance on RHOBH will do to her career is DD, who tries in vain to get Allison to shut up. But, Camille has plied her with too much booze & Allison isn’t quite ready to end whatever trip she’s on. Besides, Camille wants to keep playing the “poor me” card & whine about how Kyle & Faye planned the w hole thing (really?) & how mean they are to her for no reason at all.
Next week, Camille decides she’s not through making Kyle’s life a living hell, & sends her a text that upsets her (looks like it’s about Mauricio). For a woman who is so exhausted all the damn time, she sure finds the energy to continue attacking Kyle! Even her “apology” on WWHL was nothing more than another attack on Kyle, since she purposefully waited until Kyle was on the spot & would have looked bad had she said anything other than “Thank you.” Well, that plus she needs to make herself look good, since her divorce from hubby Woody Harrelson isn’t going so well for her right now.
