The Best Thrift Stores in Salt Lake City

by tree pony

Thrift stores are the perfect place for those addicted to saving money. With their easy on the wallet prices and ever changing selections, you can usually find anything it is you want at your local thrift store. Here’s the top 3 thrift stores in the Salt Lake City area.

Thrift Town – Thrift Town may look small on the outside, but inside it’s booming with great finds. Wall to wall selections of clothes, furniture, household goods, and more make it the thrift store with the best selection in town, not to mention the most organized and cleanest! Thrift Town doesn’t consign items, meaning you can’t sell your stuff there (unlike some thrift stores) but they do take donations (that are tax-deductible) either at their store location or pick up at your home if the items (i.e.- furniture) are too large for you to transport. In addition to their already rock bottom prices, Thrift Town also offers numerous weekly sales and specials with their “color tag sale items” changing every single day. They are also the winner of over 10 awards, and the number is growing. Thrift Town is located at 3330 South 1300 East (in Salt Lake City) and is open Monday-Friday from 9am-8pm, Saturday from 10am-7pm and Sunday from 10am-6pm.

Kid to Kid – If you have children, this is the place for you. Kid to Kid is clean, organized, and stocked full of amazing deals on gently used baby and kids clothing, gear, furniture, toys, and so much more. And, not all of it is gently used either..some of their selection is even brand new (still with tags!) but still at extremely low prices. Kid to Kid does consignment sales as well, meaning anything your kids have outgrown that is new or gently used you can bring in and they will buy them from you. If you’re interested in selling to Kid to Kid, you need to set up an appointment with their buyer (but, they have plenty of appointment times available and it’s easy to do). Kid to Kid has several Utah locations all over the state, but the Salt Lake City store is located at 675 East 1200 South and is open Monday-Saturday from 10am-8pm.

Savers – Savers is known as an upscale thrift store to some people because they’re almost more like a department store, but with extremely low prices which make them even better. Savers is huge and packed full of just about everything you can imagine including clothes, shoes, accessories, household goods, toys and more. In addition to their low prices, they also offer 50% off sales monthly as well as in store discounts that rotate each week. Savers also takes tax-deductible donations at their store and can accept anything from clothing and shoes to furniture and electronics. Savers is located just outside Salt Lake in Taylorsville at 4145 South Redwoods Road (1700 West) and is open Monday-Saturday from 9am-9pm and Sunday from 10am-7pm.
