Participating in a study abroad program offers students majoring in communications, as well as other majors, many opportunities that will enrich and enhance their learning at a university. Meeting new people from around the world, learning a new language, embracing different cultures, and being able to visit international landmarks while growing as an individual make studying abroad an amazing experience. The following are study abroad programs offered at universities located in Indiana.

Indiana State University
Summer 2011 in London
This course will earn 6 credit hours while doing a study abroad in London, England. The cost of this includes orientation, excursion, health insurance, room and board, airfare and pickup.
Department of Communication – Purdue University
The study abroad program at Purdue University offers dozens of locations to study abroad, but encourage students to pursue two main courses focused for this department:
Italy Consortium Program
There are 6 – 18 credit hours that can be earned, depending on a summer or semester course to be enrolled in this program. Paderno del Grappa is the city where students will live, just north of Venice. This program is open to juniors and seniors only. This city has had positive economic growth and is a short distance from major cities in Italy to gain access to culture, landmarks and
London Internship Program
This course will earn students 6 credit hours. Being submersed in British culture, students will live in London for eight weeks during the summer and have access to the city’s famous landmarks, museums, business district and other world famous attractions. This program is open to students who have reached a junior standing.
Kelley School of Business – Indiana University, Bloomington
There are 80 overseas programs in 37 countries, in 17 languages, so there are many opportunities to embrace cultures all over the world in this program. There are prerequisites prior to entering the program. Length of study is offered in semester, summer and week-long study time frames to accommodate students. An interested face from this school is that nearly a third of students participate in the study abroad program from this university.
IPFW (Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne)
There are many countries available to studying in for this program including Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean, as well as in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and South America. Length of study varies from semester, year-long, and summer terms. Depending on the location, studying the native language may be required prior to the study while other programs are taught in English.
Ball State University- Study Abroad
This program is open to all Ball State students, and offers travel to Australia, Prague, Costa Rica, London, Greece and Ireland, just to name a few locations. The program offers advisory session to help students focus on a potential location, learn about the student themselves and their needs, and how to reach academic and personal goals. Cost, duration and credit hours earned vary by program and location.
