SoulInfusion Tea House & Bistro is located in a charming renovated 1930’a farmhouse at 628 E Main Street, Sylva, NC. This restaurant’s welcoming ambiance offers a friendly, casual atmosphere where one can dine in quiet solitude or among friends. If you can find the place, you are welcomed by owners Jason and Karin Kimenker. Current winter hours of operation are Tuesday through Thursday, 11-9pm, and Friday 11-10pm.
There are comfortable couches lining the walls, along with small table settings interspersed throughout the main rooms. Upstairs is the Southwestern Community College student lounge. But the students make themselves comfy anywhere. In one corner a young man sits with books and papers scattered around him. At a nearby bistro table a group of young folks are involved in a passionate discussion. Leaning back on a bar stool sits a woman deeply engrossed in a good book as she sips her tea. Outside on the porch are picnic tables set amid hanging vines and tall, willowing flower bushes. The entire location is a quiet reflection of kindness and goodwill. From the time you enter the establishment you are greeted with a friendly smile.

You are encouraged to visit their “Wall of Teas” where over 65 varieties of tea, chai, caffeine-free herbal infusions and fruit tisanes are offered.
The day my friend and I visited SoulInfusion we sampled a salad labeled “Mucho Nachos.” It was a wise choice for first timers. A bed of organic nachos layered with beans and sauce, topped with fresh homemade guacamole and salsa, sour cream and smothered in slivered cheddar cheese. We thoroughly enjoyed every bite, all at a modest price of $8.00 plus drinks.
As a final note this healthy bistro occasionally offers live music on Friday evenings. Catering is also available, and reservations can be made for hosting weekend private parties and other special events.
