A few months ago my husband and I decided to remodel our master bathroom. Our bathtub was a deep garden tub that was framed with heavy glass shower doors. My husband removed the doors, and we had two interior decorators come in and design our new bathroom. They put shower curtains up where the doors had been, but I didn’t like the shower curtain liner they chose, it was made of a heavy duty plastic, and it didn’t hang nicely and was hard to open and close. They didn’t really like it either, but they needed an extra long liner, and this was the only one they could find.
Knowing that my local Bed Bath & Beyond store stocks a wide selection of bath items, I headed there to see if they had a shower liner more to my liking. I ended up purchasing a Soft Sensations Pure Eco-Friendly Chlorine Free Shower Curtain Liner, in an extra long length!
This shower curtain liner measures seventy inches wide and eighty four inches long. The length is ten to twelve inches longer than most standard shower curtains and liners that I looked at, which averaged 70-72 inches in length. I couldn’t find this in clear, but since my shower curtains are white with gray accents, the white color that was available worked well.
The packaging says that this Soft Sensations Pure Eco-Friendly Chlorine Free Shower Curtain Liner is made with blended EVA, has reinforced grommets, has a bottom hem with three magnets, is odorless, and is mold and allergy resistant.
I am all for eco-friendly products, so this sounded good to me. It is definitely a softer plastic, and I didn’t even have to let it run in my dryer for a few seconds fo soften it up to remove the fold lines. It came out of the package nicely and the fold lines disappeared after it had hung up for a few days.
Just as described, the Soft Sensations Pure Eco-Friendly Shower Curtain Liner had no plastic odor! I really dislike products that smell like toxic plastic, I often have to open my windows to let the room air out. I am pleased that I had no issues at all with this product, and since I do have allergies, it was a pleasant surprise.
The 100% EVA vinyl shower curtain liner is easy to care for, simply wipe it clean. I like to rinse it after a shower to remove all soap scum, which keeps the plastic soft. I had to look up “EVA”, to see how it is better than other forms of plastic, and I learned that EVA is soft and flexible (to prevent cracking), and that it is friendlier to the environment since it is made without chlorine.
The Soft Sensations Pure Eco-Friendly Shower Curtain Liner was a little pricey, retailing for $16.99, but it was the only liner that I could find that was soft and flexible, and that had the extra long length that I needed for our deep bathtub. So far we have been very happy with this product.
