If you’re a member of Delta Air Lines’ frequent flyer program called Delta SkyMiles, you can earn more miles by simply dining out. Instead of indicating your membership number in your flight ticket, car rental, or hotel reservation, SkyMiles Dining allows you to automatically earn miles by using a registered credit or debit card used in paying your restaurant bill.
Earning miles in restaurants is totally discreet because there is no need to inform the establishment that you want to earn miles. There are additional ID cards to present, no coupons to redeem, and no membership number to provide. This complimentary program typically allows you to earn miles anywhere from 1 to 5 miles per dollar spent or even more during promotional offers.
Acquainting yourself with the places where SkyMiles Dining is used is the key to acquiring as much miles as you can. Whether touring around another place within the United States and Canada or merely checking out nearby restaurants, bars, and clubs in your home or place of work, you can always get updated information about the latest establishments participating in the program and current promos offered by the program.
You may opt out of the email subscription and just go directly to your SkyMiles Dining online account for updated lists of participating establishments. Yet, it wouldn’t really hurt to actually keep an email subscription because instead of earning a minimum of 1 mile per dollar spent, you can earn a minimum of 3 miles per dollar spent if you have an active email subscription.
Based on personal experience, since I live in Las Vegas, a haven for good restaurant and nightlife offerings, my regular updates of restaurants where I can get extra miles provide me with a comprehensive list of awesome dining options. The participating restaurants may differ from state to state, but the program can still benefit you in many ways so you can and possibly earn miles from your favorite dining spots, whether in your hometown or your vacation destination.
To maximize your mile-earning potential, you go to your online account and register your various types of payment cards for your restaurant bills. This can include any of your valid credit cards, and in many cases, debit cards, check cards, ATM cards, and even gift cards. You can register cards with logos of Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.
