The scene before the opening credits shows Megumi running off, presumably toward Natsuno’s house. After credits, we see Natsuno’s mother nervously checking on her bizarre, puppet-wielding “guest.” She tells the little girl that Natsuno will be home soon, she starts to turn on the light but the little girl snaps that she doesn’t need light.
The following scene is a flashback. Tatsumi is giving the other okiagari their marching orders. (One of the vampires he’s talking to is the little girl with the puppet.) After he gives the battle plan the scene shifts back to Natsuno, who is just coming home. Natsuno’s mother tells him about the “guest.” He’s a little alarmed to discover that she’s waiting in his room. He tells his parents not to let anyone in, and then heads off to his room. The little girl is apparently gone, having left through the window. Natsuno is not very happy to hear that his parents had also given a blanket invitation to the little girl’s “brother.”
The scene shifts back to earlier in the evening, with Tatsumi and the other okiagari. Megumi is really not happy to hear that someone else might be attacking Natsuno, but Tatsumi shoots down her protest. (Megumi is also really horrible to Nao, but Megumi is generally pretty horrible to everyone.)
Back at Natsuno’s house, Natsuno’s father discovers that Natsuno has put up various charms and wards all over his room. He is surprised and not very happy about all this superstitious stuff. Meanwhile, Natsuno calls the Tanaka kids to find out if they’ve gotten any visitors. After delivering a warning to the kids about not inviting anyone inside, he finds out that his father has thrown out all the wards and charms Natsuno had put up.
This brings us back to the moment where Megumi is running off to Natsuno’s house after the attack on the clinic.
Natsuno is waiting in his room armed with a makeshift cross and a wrench. He hears someone rattling the window and sees a silhouette, but the figure moves away. There’s a “see through the walls” moment where we know that the okiagari is moving around to the front door, which turns out to be unlocked. Natsuno curses his luck to have parents feckless enough to want to move to the countryside so they wouldn’t have to lock their door at night. The okiagari doesn’t come into the house, instead, it moves back to the window, and calls out to Natsuno–it’s Toru.
Against anything resembling common sense, Natsuno opens the window. Toru attempts to make a grab for him, but is obviously not really into attacking Natsuno. Toru runs away, and has a full blown meltdown back in the woods. Megumi finds him, and they have a talk that ends with Megumi going off to get Natsuno.
Natsuno has left the house, and is calling for Toru. (It would seem that Natsuno is being really stupid, but it isn’t as if his home is exactly safe from vampire attack thanks to the invitations given by Natsuno’s parents.) While he is looking for Toru he stops by a spring. Megumi is watching him, and trying to get up the nerve to attack him. Before she can do anything however, Tatsumi shows up and cheerfully lets Natsuno know that he is a dead man walking. After a brief exchange with Natsuno, Tatsumi calls Megumi out into the open. Both okiagari head toward him but Toru jumps out of the trees and grabs Natsuno.
We end with dramatic slow motion of Toru attacking Natsuno, and then go to credits.
