Rite Aid Maximum Strength Jock Itch Powder Spray Works on Some Fungal Infections as Well

When you have a fungal infection, the burning and itching associated with it can drive you crazy. It is almost unbearable.

Oddly enough, the same powder spray that is used to treat jock itch, works well for treating some other fungal infections as well. One of the best on the market comes from Rite Aid. It is their Maximum Strength Jock Itch Powder Spray.

With the active ingredient tolnaftate (1%), this spray works as an anti-fungal agent as well. Other ingredients include talc, stearalkonium hectorite, sorbitan monooleate, propylene carbonate, isopropyl myristate, isobutane, aluminum starch octenylsuccinate and alcohol SD 40 B.

Rite Aid Maximum Strength Jock Itch Powder Spray comes in a 4.6-oz spray can, which offers about 30% more product than Tinactin (a comparable spray). It retails for around $7.

The spray makes several claims. It says it is clinically proven useful in the treatment of tinea cruris and other similar fungal infections. It also claims to sooth the burning, chafing and itching caused by these infections. But does it work? Let’s take a look.

Since I have personally never had jock itch, I had to rely on friends and family to assure me that Rite Aid Maximum Strength Jock Itch Powder Spray does actually help with this problem. Used alone, it may not be enough. However, used in conjunction with other anti-fungal medications it appears to work well. Therefore, I give it 4 out of 5 stars for this claim.

With regard to related fungal infections, I have personally found the spray very effective as an additional treatment. Therefore, I give it 5 out of 5 stars for this claim.

Rite Aid Maximum Strength Jock Itch Powder Spray definitely takes away the burn attached to many fungal infections. It is cool and soothing, earning it another 5 out of 5 stars.

The spray works equally well against chafing and skin irritations that can be associated with certain types of fungal infections. Therefore, I give it another 5 out 5 stars.

Finally, Rite Aid Maximum Strength Jock Itch Powder Spray does indeed relieve the itch associated with any of the above problems. That earns it a final 5 out of 5 stars.

With 24 out of a possible 25 stars, Rite Aid Maximum Strength Jock Itch Powder Spray receives a near perfect rating. While $7 may seem at bit high at the outset, it turns out to be more than worth every penny in the end.

Rite Aid Maximum Strength Jock Itch Powder Spray is for adult use only. It should never be used on children without the direction of a physician.

Stop using the spray if redness or other irritation occurs or worsens or if no improvement is seen in the infected area within 10 days. Contact a physician for further instructions.

Do not use this spray internally. Do not swallow it or get it into the eyes. If swallowed by accident, contact the local poison control center as soon as possible. If it gets in the eyes, rinse them thoroughly with cool water for several minutes. Should irritation persist in either case, report immediately to an ER facility.

The contents of Rite Aid Maximum Strength Jock Itch Powder Spray are flammable. Keep the can away from any and all open flames. Do not attempt to freeze, since the contents could explode under those conditions as well.

To use Rite Aid Maximum Strength Jock Itch Powder Spray, begin by cleaning the area that is to be sprayed with soap and water. Pat it completely dry.

Next, shake Rite Aid Maximum Strength Jock Itch Powder Spray to evenly distribute the interior chemicals. Hold between 6″ and 8″ away from the infected area.

Spray on a thin even coat of spray. This can be repeated up to twice per day. It can be used daily for a maximum of 10 days.

If the nozzle clogs, clear the spray area with a straight pin. Hold upside down and spray until the clog is dispersed.

Store Rite Aid Maximum Strength Jock Itch Powder Spray at temperatures between 58 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
