Review of Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Cherries in the Snow (440)

by tree pony

About 5 years ago, it was nearly impossible to find a lipstick that actually stood on your lips for longer than 15 minutes. I stopped wearing and buying lipstick because I got sick of wasting money on lipsticks that promised budge free color, only to find that it did not last long at all, and I got sick of re-applying it over and over again throughout the day.

Cosmetic companies however have changed over the years, and most of them live up to their promise. Revlon in particular has been a cosmetic favorite of mine due to the long last, the vivid colors, and the fact that everything they have on the market goes on easily, stays put, and looks fantastic. Lately I have been exploring their many lipstick and lip stain options.

My new favorite, hands down, belongs to Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Cherries In The Snow (440).

Unfortunately when I came across this lipstick I could only judge it based on what I could see in the tube. The clear lid allowed me to peek inside and spy a pretty looking color, a plumish pink, with a vivid blast of red in the color as well.

I wished I could have sampled it on my hand before buying it, as I have picked up lip colors that looked bright and colorful in the tube, yet when applied the color is weak. I took my chances on Cherries In The Snow (440), though because Rite Aid had a buy one, get one 50% off sale. So normally a $7.99 lipstick was sold for half that.

The Color:

When I finally got home, I couldn’t wait to try this one out. I applied the lipstick and was dazzled by how bright, beautiful, rich and colorful Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Cherries In The Snow (440) was.

It floods your lips with a deep bloody magenta color, with a pretty purplish pink. It’s deep, it’s dark, it’s bold and it is daring. However bright colors are the latest trend, and if you can work these new bright rich colors, than you will definitely want to give this one a try.

The color as it fades a little turns into a brighter pink, which is also beautiful.

Last:

This bright pink lasts though, and this is what makes this lipstick one of my latest favorites.

I get around 5 hours of continuous color till fading becomes too much, and I need to re-apply. The color however is so rich and beautiful that re-applying it is not a nuisance or aggravation. I can drink and eat with this one on, and the color still manages to maintain it’s stay, with little to no fading at all.

Texture:

When I first applied Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Cherries In The Snow (440) it went on smooth and soft, leaving lips feeling natural with moisturization. The texture is not gross or at all bothersome. After a few minutes this moisturized texture fades leaving your lips feeling as natural as they would had there been no lipstick applied at all. It’s worry free, budge proof lipstick.

Overall:

Beautiful rich coloring, natural feel on the lips, and a long last is what you can expect from Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Cherries In The Snow (440). This one is now my top favorite and managed to win me over in place of my last favorite Maybelline 24. It’s more natural, less dry feeling, and so much brighter! 10 out of 10 stars from me!
