Both my husband and I like to read at bed time. It helps us to fall asleep faster, but we need a good lamp that gives us enough light, but still doesn’t take up a lot of room on our headboard.
We have had small desk lamps over the years, but when mine failed I could not find a small, adjustable lamp that would work well in our headboard. I looked at grocery stores, hardware stores, lighting stores, and department stores. I either found those miniature clip on reading lights, or desk lamps that were over sized for the area in our headboard.
Finally I found what I wanted at my local Target store! Target sells a RE Style LED Desk Lamp, which is distributed by the Target Corporation. I wasn’t expecting to pay $25 for this lamp, but now that I have it and have used it, I am glad I did.
The RE Style LED Desk Lamp has two metal sections with a hinge in the center. This allows you to adjust it in many different positions. The hinge at the neck of the light shade also adds even more positioning options. The Target website sells the RE Style LED Desk Lamp in green, blue and black, but the store did not have the black color in stock, which is what I would have preferred.
The tag that came with the RE Style LED Desk Lamp states that this product has a longer bulb life, a bright vivid light, and that it is energy efficient. The round head on the lamp has a lot of LED bulbs, eighteen to be exact. I was afraid this would give off too much light for reading, but with the ability to move the angle of the lamp, I was able to set it on my bed headboard and direct the light toward the back of our headboard, which gave off just the right amount of light. This is also very bright when placed on a desk and used for paperwork or art projects.
I love the LED bulbs because not only are the exceptionally bright and have a long life, but they also do not get hot to the touch, so I believe they are a safer choice for my home. The on/off button is on the base of the lamp, which is large enough to assure the lamp won’t tip over, yet leaves a small footprint.
LED means “Light Emitting Diode”, and these lights are unlike traditional light bulbs in that they do not have the filament inside the bulb, which actually means they will have a longer life and will be more energy efficient, saving the user money over the life of the product. The eighteen LED bulbs in this lamp produce a lot of light, little heat, and the adjustable arms and head make this a very versatile lamp. It is exactly what we were looking for!
