The ad promises “stains out. no doubt.'” Well I bought the product and it didn’t get any of the stains out. I had a shirt with ketchup on it, pants with mud and grass stains, and a blouse with blood stains.
I followed the instructions on the, shall we call them “stain remover wads.” ? That is what they look like, little wads of multicolored stuff, possibly sand, though they did dissolve completely, and I didn’t find any multicolored sand in the tub after I finished my wash.
The instructions directed me to fill the washing machine with water then add the detergent with special acti-lift technology letting it dissolve completely then add the stain removal wad and wait while it dissolved completely. Then I was to add the clothes.
Now I have to admit I fell asleep while the machine was filling with water and the detergent was doing “acti” lifts in the cupboard. But I woke up in time to add the detergent and wad. Then I was supposed to add the clothes Unfortunately I had filled the machine to the highest level and adding the clothes made it overflow. So I had to let some of the water out.
Then just to be fair, I added a little more detergent and another wad and watched while they dissolved. Damn by this time I could have taken the clothes out to the river and beat them on a rock. It is not high tech, but it works.
Since I live in the 21st century I let the washer do the work for me. HA! When I took the clothes out the stains were still there. Where is a good rock when you need it? Not to beat the clothes on to throw at the advertisers who hock this stuff.
I got the stains out with a little elbow grease and ivory snow. I didn’t even bother with the “oxy clean” I have, mostly because the tub of “oxy” I bought last year has turned into a solid rock and I couldn’t find my ice pick. I still like “oxy” and will use it in spite of the fact that the guy who used to sell it is no longer with us. As a matter of fact I am almost positive it worked once. I think. Although when I think about it, the time it worked I might have been watching television.
I have figured out how they get the stains out of all of those dirty shirts on TV. They have two shirts one stained the other brand new. That is probably how they make the old shirts or clothes look new. The clean ones ‘are’ new!
So these are my results based on my vast experience of doing countless loads of laundry over the course of many years. I would tell you how many years, but then I’d have to kill you.
Oh yeah just so you don’t walk away from this feeling like you learned nothing, I have found how to get grease stains out of washable clothes. Soak the stain in ‘Dawn’ dishwashing detergent overnight scrub and wash as usual. Sometimes it gets the stain out sometimes it leaves a hole. It is a crap shoot.
