A press release can be a unique way to let people know you are open for business and you have something to sell. There are a number of websites you can go to to get your press release released for free.
The steps for a press release are number 1: Have something to sell. It you are trying to advertise an event or a product then a press release may not be what you should do.
Number 2: Be succinct. Don’t write War and Peace in a press release. No one will read it.
Number 3: Check you copy a number of times. If possible. Leave your copy in a drawer a couple of days and come back to it with free eyes. Read the copy aloud to help you find errors.
Number 4: Pick snail mail and email address as well and phone numbers and company name you will use before hand. Do you want a lot unsolicited stuff appearing your private mail box or people you don’t know calling you on the phone? If not,set up communication apparatus pertaining the business before hand. One of the possible advantages of this is when some spammer sells you information you may be able to narrow down who did the dirty deed.
Number5: Be careful how you fill out the form. Unless you are sure you are going to get some bang for the buck, stick with the free option. Don’t pay for anything.
Number 6: Often the free option will not allow you to do things like include images or working hyperlinks in the press release. Oh well.
Number 7: Submit and obey. Well at least submit your free press release. Once you get a notification from the press releaser that your content is published, use the hyperlink to the press release to help advertise your wares.

One way to get the word out about a new product or service is to put out a press release. There are a number of agencies out there that will handle your press release for a fee. My suggestion is that in order to get your feet wet that you try a free service first. I have found at least two agencies that created press releases for free that showed up promptly in a Google search. I have created some sample releases below that should give you an idea of what format was acceptable to the agencies and you will see how your release might appear.
