Planters Nuts Heart Healthy Mix is designed to reduce the risk of heart disease. But will nuts make you fat?
Researchers are now saying a moderate fat diet, which includes the healthy monosaturated fats not the saturated and trans fats, can help you stick to a diet and lose more weight.
The Planters Nuts Heart Healthy include peanuts, almonds, pistachios, pecans, walnuts and hazelnuts or filberts. Since I love the flavor of chocolate and nuts together, I usually sprinkle in a few mini semi-sweet chocolate chips and then store the nuts and chocolate in an air-tight glass container. They are great inexpensive party foods for New Year’s.
I’ve heard people tend to eat more from glass containers, but in this case, I want my family to eat more nuts! Will nuts make you fat? I don’t believe so. Nuts are great for dieters because they provide fiber, nutrition and fill you up.
The Planters Nuts Heart Healthy Mix are great for healthy after-school snack, or for people on the Sonoma diet . Here are few things I learned from my Planters Nuts review:
No. 1: Heart Healthy Mix Planters Nuts calories: One serving or 30 whole nuts contains 170 calories.
No. 2: Heart Healthy Mix Planters Nuts fat: One serving has 15 grams of fat.
No. 3: Heart Healthy Mix Planters Nuts nutrition: One serving contains 200 mg potassium, 3 grams of fiber, 1 gram of sugar and 6 grams of protein.
No. 4: Planters Nuts Heart Healthy Mix ingredients: peanuts, almonds, pistachios, pecans, walnuts, hazelnuts, peanut or cottonseed oil, sea salt.
No. 5: Planters Nuts Heart Healthy Mix is a product of Kraft Foods. The product contains 50 mg of sodium versus the 110 in the regular mixed nuts by Planters.
I have to say, the heart healthy mix is one of my favorite nut mixes. I usually eat the green pistachios separate just because I think they have a pine flavor that doesn’t mix with other nuts. Still, it’s the best inexpensive party food for New Year’s and any party for adults.
As a rule, never feed nuts to children younger than 6 because of the choking hazard. For more information on the product, visit them at www.PlantersNUTrition.com.
For taste and nutrition, I give the Planters Nuts Heart Healthy Mix 4.9 out of 5 stars.
