Just a generation ago outdoor ice skating rinks were common in towns and cities in the northern parts of the country. Unfortunately, such skating rinks are not as widely available now, especially in metropolitan areas.
Saint Paul, Minn. is a fortunate city with a unique outdoor ice skating rink. Wells Fargo WinterSkate is artificially-chilled so that it can be used throughout the winter season in all kinds of temperatures, and is also free to use for numerous types of activities.
During the open season lasting through February 6, 2011, the outdoor skating rink will be filled with noontime skaters, after school groups, youth hockey scrimmages and practices, broomball teams, corporate events, and family open skating.
Wells Fargo WinterSkate is located in the heart of the Saint Paul downtown area. The historic Landmark Center creates a beautiful backdrop for the outdoor rink, showcasing Saint Paul’s charming European architecture and old-world ambiance.
Outdoor ice skating at the Wells Fargo WinterSkate ice rink will not be cancelled throughout the season, unless the actual air temperature or wind-chill reaches -25 degrees F or colder or other severe weather conditions exist.
