“Shepherd’s Hope is a faith-based organization of volunteers that exists to provide access to health care for the uninsured.”
Pastor William S. Barnes began with a vision in 1996 which has evolved into partnerships with local churches in nine Orlando locations to provide medical services to anyone without insurance. Clients include anyone with an income level 200% below the poverty level, are uninsured, or not eligible for government assisted health care programs. Over 100,000 free medical visits have been provided in the past 12 years.

Florida Blood Centers
Blood Banks in and around Orlando accept blood donations at various locations on the Big Red Bus – and regularly in Winter Park. Offices are located in Downtown Orlando, North Orange Ave, Valencia Community College, Altamonte on East Altamonte Drive, and the Headquarters Campus on Commodity Circle. See their website for days/hours.
The benefits of donating blood include knowing your blood type, computer access of your last donation, a mini physical check of your pulse, blood pressure, body temperature and hemoglobin. In addition, your blood is tested for several diseases including but not limited to: Antibody Screen, Hepatitis B and C, HIV, Syphilis, Cholesterol, and West Nile Virus. This is to ensure that the blood supply is safe and you’ll have online access to your blood test results.
