Do you expect the best results every time you sit down to write? Do you have confidence in your abilities as a writer? What type of energy do you project into your articles? No, I’m really not one of those happy, perky people. I just believe that you get out of something what you put into it. To illustrate the point, if you put garden fresh produce into a salad, you’ve got a great lunch. On the other hand, if you use wilted lettuce, spoiled tomatoes and soured dressing, well, you get the point. Your writing expectations really do come to fruition, no matter what they are.
If you’re angry and you know it, put the poison pen down. It will infect your writing like a case of the plague. Believe me, I’ve been there. Using words to vent is a habit of every writer I know, myself included. At the very least, don’t publish your angry words. If you do, don’t expect everyone to agree with you or be sympathetic to your cause. The same goes for your expectations. Keep them high and your results will be everything you’ve dreamed of. Lower your expectations and be ready for your page views to plummet.
If you’re happy and you know it, how does you’re writing come out? Upbeat and positive, right? That’s where those high expectations come in. Believe in yourself. Know that you can hit that ball all the way out of the park. Guess what? If you put that feeling into everything you write, your readers will feel it too. Your writing will bring them up, rather than down into the depths of despair. How do you sell a product? Create something that makes people feel happy and inspired. Selling your articles is no different than selling lipstick or lemonade. It’s all about pleasing the customer.
What if it’s too late? What if nothing I do comes out right? It’s never too late to raise your own expectations. Successful people are made, not born. Anyone can be a great success. All it takes is a lot of enthusiasm and hard work. You know how to work hard, don’t you? Isn’t that what you were doing for your boss before you started writing articles online? I know I was. Don’t tell me your writing career means less to you than your nasty, old, grouchy boss. Raise your expectations of yourself. If you did it for someone else, you can do it for yourself.
How can I be positive when my whole world is falling apart? Sometimes people forget that their real self lies within their mind, not outside of their body. Let your expectations project outward to improve your life. Don’t let bad feelings and negative energy in the door to your soul when it opens. Fill your soul up so full with positivity that it literally explodes out of you, leaving no room for the baddies to get in. OK, so I guess maybe I am one of those happy, perky people. That’s because it works. Raise your expectations and you raise your level of success.
