can’t wait to tell you my latest projects!!!I have two books which will be out in a couple months as e-books and paperback. Prayers and Stories for the Soul are a collection of prayers and stories I have written which touched my heart as I wrote them and wanted to pass them on the reader. This is the introducation- however they are doing the final edit now.
I offer this book to you in the spirit of much love. I know life is stressful, and this is my way of offering support and praying in the wonderful Light of Jesus. As the Bible says in John 14:6, He is the Way, the Truth and the Life! Each one who reads this book will be in my prayers. My prayer is that you will experience the holy wonderful light within yourself: the Eternal Light of Jesus!
We might imagine a person praying as being in a small room and seeing a bright light around them because their prayer is so holy. Well, this is partially true. There are a few people who are called to this type of life, and we need them to pray for our world. But most of us are called to live a life of a living prayer of action. This needs some explanation. In order to have a prayerful life we first need meditative prayer with Jesus. This can be any kind of meditative prayer that suits you. For some it can be writing a letter to Jesus each day, for others, trying to be in the silence. Going beyond our thoughts and feelings and connect with Jesus who is deep within. Some use soft music to relax their mind so they can feel the peace of the compassion of Jesus. One of the prayers I have written seems to be helpful. Maybe this prayer might assist you with starting your prayer.
Come holy wisdom
Come holy wisdom
and make a home
in my heart
May I be open
to your truth
and sacred voice
May I rest
In your most holy light
and listen to your song
Your song of
faith and courage
to help me on my way
May I sing your song
for the one
who my heart and soul venerate
Come holy wisdom
Listen to my prayer
May your light shine through me
Prayer usually brings a response of some kind. Once you have experienced the love of Jesus in your own life, you soon learn how Jesus is not only in you but in each one. This brings each interaction you have to a new reality. Each time you love, that is prayer. Each time you forgive, that is prayer. Each time you bring understanding or joy that is also prayer. There are many other examples, but I think you get the idea. In a sense your life becomes a prayer. .
Joy and perseverance is a wonderful outcome of living a life of prayer. Once we have experienced the light of Jesus that stays within our heart and soul. Sometimes this joy is very gentle and peaceful. We may have a sense all is well and we know for a fact that we are loved and feel the presence of Jesus. Other times it can be so strong that it is bursting out of us and has to be shared! I tend to show it by dance, song, or writing prayers. We tend to lead others to Jesus when people see how are relationship with him has brought such peace and joy. They might want to know where we have found such contentment. One of my prayers tries to convey this message.
As I listen to the birds
I wonder what they are singing
I imagine flying and singing
along with them
What would I sing?
I would sing of the
joy of God and the
beginning of a new day
I would sing how we are
all precious in God’s eyes
and notice the beauty of creation
I would sing of the unity
and the love we
can give each other
Oh, what a song I would sing!
You know what?
I don’t have to be a bird
I can sing those songs
every day as me!
As I have touched on earlier I believe prayer is essential. I had to get in touch with God within me before I could see God in others, nature; etc.You might want to develop a prayer style that fits you. Even if it is only five minutes a day. Mother Teresa tried to make her life a constant prayer for God. We have not only found the love of God within, but we are God’s beloved children. .
Once we discover we are God’s beloved child. we quickly realized that everyone is God’s beloved son or daughter. That is a huge discovery. It makes a big difference how we treat others. If God is in us He is within everyone else. I have a prayer which reflects the thoughts I am trying to explain.
There is a holy light within us
Giving warmth and glorious passion
This light is hope and love
which comes from our Creator
The light is stronger than sadness or fear
It can help us through our darkest hours
How can we see or
feel this light?
Close your eyes and
Surrender everything to God
Then only God’s radiant
light is left
Oh magnificent and holy light!
Help us feel
your strength
and compassion
Help us realize that
we all possess this light
It reflects all
Of God’s being
God’s own goodness
dwells within us
Almost impossible to understand
Perhaps it isn’t meant to be understood
Only to be lived
So, how does this relate to our life? If we are aware of the love inside us and others. If we use our gifts. If we realize that when we meet someone we are meeting Jesus. Our lives will be prayerful. I wish you all the serenity and consolation that God gives and I invite you to pass on that joy? Peace be with you.
The other book is an inspirational novel called Cathy’s Secret. This is part of my proposal.
Description:
Cathy is a homeless woman who has a passion and gift of helping others.. While living in a shelter, she meets another homeless man, and the two form a friendship that soon becomes romantic. Cathy’s life is finally looking up, and soon she and Tom are married and live in a home of their own. Cathy’s mother told her before she died that there was a secret about her which God would reveal at the proper time.
Cathy has a call to help people who have severe mental illness, but suddenly life throws curveballs her way; the loss of Joe her dearest friend, the death of their firstborn and her own serious illness.. After each of these tragedies she finds the courage to get back up.How can she ever go on without her soul mate? Why would God allow these things to happen?
Cathy has a psychotic break, but later discovers that, no matter the challenges she faces, she is never alone. Cathy discovers the secret of joyful living, even through adverse circumstances: She is God’s beloved daughter, and the secret is she needs to follow her heart..
Audience:
Cathy’s Secret will appeal to the hearts of women as they empathize with the ups and downs of Cathy’s life. Women who enjoy the works of Karen Kingsbury, Kathleen Popa and Beverly Lewis Cathy’s will be moved by Cathy’s Secret.
Category:
Inspirational Fiction
Tone:
In Cathy’s Secret, Cathy must cope with a myriad of serious problems that cause her to doubt God’s love for her. Fortunately, she learns that God is the perfect source of strength, and she is loved unconditionally, despite her previous doubts. Cathy does not fit the stereotype most people have of those who are homeless.
Spiritual Themes:
‘¢ Jesus works through others, even when we don’t realize it.
‘¢ God works in His own time, not ours.
‘¢ God can use even the worst of circumstances for our best interest and personal growth.
‘¢ It is normal to question our faith during times of personal struggle.
‘¢ No matter our trials, we can rely on to lead us through to better days.
‘¢ With faith, love and hope are present.
Character Development:
Cathy learns that God works in His time; He knows what she is enduring, and He can use her circumstances to help her grow into a stronger Christian. Others see Jesus’ light in Cathy, even when she is unaware of His presence. Cathy realizes that it is okay for Christians to doubt their relationship with Christ, at times, because He will still be there, no matter the weakness of our faith. Readers will relate to Cathy’s doubts and realize that they, too, can see Christ’s hand in their lives in retrospect, which means He is with them at all times'”including right now.
Tom feels that Cathy is the right woman for him even when she doubts her faith in God early in their relationship. His love for her grows. He patiently supports her during her mental breakdown and stands by her even after he becomes angry twice when he thinks she is in love with another man. He then realizes that Cathy loves him and he grows in faith..
Issues of Unique Interest:
Homelessness is plaguing our country at a higher-than-ever rate, thanks to the crash of the housing market and the foreclosure crisis. Cathy’s firsthand experience with homelessness, as well as her honor to help those who are mentally ill is a distinctive thread that runs throughout this story.
So- stay tuned!! I will give you info. about where you can get them.
