The new year is almost here, and just like many people, one of the New Years resolutions I plan to make is to get down to my correct weight. This seems to be an on-going battle for me, and it gets harder the older I get. So this year I plan to take some specific steps to reach this goal, including changing up the types of exercise I do, fitting in more exercise when I’m out of town, increasing the intensity of my cardio exercise, and drinking more water. This article will provide more information on how I plan to accomplish those goals.
One thing that seems to be a problem for me is exercising enough – so for 2011 I will increase my exercise, not only exercising in the morning when I get up, but also by doing exercises throughout the day while I’m working – taking breaks to do jumping jacks or sit-ups when things are slow, or even doing some of the at your desk exercises suggested in the WebMd video that’s cited at the end of this article.
Another thing that seems to be a problem for me is exercising while travelling. My husband and I travel a few times a year, and we don’t always eat as well as we should when we’re on the road or even when we get to our destination. One thing I plan to do is to use the exercise tubes I bought especially for traveling to do some resistance training while I’m on the road. In addition, I’ll try to get in some cardio where I can.
Another thing I need to work on is drinking more water. I already drink quite a bit, because my major source of income is phone customer service. However, I plan to try to add more by drinking water at lunchtime as well as during the day.
Also, because I spend a lot of time working, I eat a lot of frozen dinners, at least for lunch and sometimes for dinner as well when my husband’s out of town. I would like to start substituting these with some quick and healthy lunch recipe ideas like the ones mentioned in the Fitness Magazine article cited at the end of this article. I also need to increase the intensity of the cardio I do, or perhaps even change up the type of cardio workouts I do all together. I will do that by investing in an indoor walking workout video such as the Leslie Sansone workout cited at the end of this article.
