Carrot juice has many medicinal qualities. A great, sweet beverage, I love to make carrot juice by blending a banana, 2 carrots, and an orange together to make a great, pulpy healthy treat that keeps me satisfied and focused to face my day ahead. Beyond being tasty, carrot juice alone (or mixed with other fruits and vegetables if you’d like) bears many medicinal qualities that a person can’t ignore.
Carrot juice is easy to digest, making it a perfect fibrous and gentle beverage for an upset stomach or diarrhea. Full of potassium and fiber, carrot juice helps to get the intestinal tract back into proper gear, and can help sustain an upset stomach. Beyond making you feel better and get over diarrhea and upset stomach symptoms more quickly, the potassium in carrot juice helps to hydrate the body as well from all the vomiting and diarrhea that dehydrates the body so dangerously.
Carrot juice also helps ease nasty headaches as well. It’s believed that carrot juice helps speed blood flow to the brain, making headaches less severe and fade more successfully without having to take other medications. If you feel a tension or massive headache coming on, a glass of carrot juice can work quickly to have your headache fade and get blood flow to the brain.
Carrot juice also helps to lower cholesterol and high blood pressure. The high potassium of carrot juice helps to flush out the sodium in the bloodstream that causes high blood pressure, and the fiber helps to expel the fats in the body so they flush out during digestion, leading to a healthier heart and better digestion. Carrot juice is also high in carotenoids to help to regulate blood sugar levels naturally, particularly for individuals who are insulin resistant.
The minerals in carrots and carrot juice help to cleanse teeth and slough off and destroy bacteria both in the teeth and in the bloodstream, leading to healthy teeth, gums, and healthy blood. As an antioxidant, carrot juice aides in purifying the body and helping to repair cell damage inside the body as well.
Carrot juice is high in Vitamin A, and while it won’t actually improve your vision, it will help lessen your chances of getting cataracts later in life, and can actually improve night vision. Drinking carrot juice has a wonderful effect on the body overall, and since carrot juice is tasty mixed with other fruits and vegetables as well, it’s a perfect healthy beverage that benefits the entire body!
