There was once a guy named Max. Max was very odd and said weird things. He never thought things through long enough to be able to solve his problems.
On day, he told his mom, “I ate the cat. Are you proud of me?” his mother did not respond.
The next day, Max went snowboarding. A couple of his friends went too.
“Max!” said Leo, Max’s friend.
“Yeah?!” Max called back.
“Dude, you should strap your boots in!” Leo responded.
“Leooooooo!” Max said, “If I do that, then how am I supposed to get out?”
“Ummm…” Leo couldn’t think of what to say.

The next day, Max was in bed watching a Giants game. His mom came into the room.
“C’mon, Max let’s go!” she said.
“No, Mom, the games not over yet!”
“Anddd, Tim Lincecum is pitching!!! I can’t just leave!”
“Okay then,” Max’s mom said, “I offered to take you to the doctor for this ‘pain’ of yours. Now you’ll just have to take yourself.”
“Okay… WOOHOO!!! THEY SCORED AGAIN!!!”
Max’s mom rolled her eyes and left.

“So, tell me Max, what’s the problem?” Dr.D said.
“Doctor, every time I try to grab something, my hand hurts! If I touch any other spot of my body, that spot starts to hurt sooo bad!”
“Oh?” Dr.D said, “Show me.”
One by one, Max touched a different spot on his body, wailing in agony each time.
While Max was doing this, Dr.D watched silently. Then Max was finished, the Doctor still didn’t say anything.
Finally, he said, “Do you think anything is broken?”
Yes,” Max said, “EVERYTHING!!!”
Once again, Dr.D remained silent. Finally, he said, “Did you have any accidents?”
“Well, yeah,” Max said, “I went snowboarding with my friends. My friend Leo told me that I should strap myself to my board, but I didn’t. Later, one of my boots slipped out of the brace and I fell. I put out my hand to brake my fall. My body has been hurting ever since”
“Max, does your body hurt all the time?” Dr.D asked.
“No, only went I touch a spot.” Max replied.
“Max, I know what the problem is…”
“What?!” Max cried.
“Max, your hand is broken…” Dr.D said.
Max didn’ say anything at first. Then, he said, “I still think my body is broken, but if you want to wrap up my hand, that’s fine.”
The Doctor just smiled. Then, he said, “Max, if your hand was hurting earlier, then why didn;t you come in?
“Dr.D,” Max said, “I was watching a Giants game. Tim Lincecum was pitching. I couldn’t just forget about the game and come here!”
“So, you put up wit a broken hand just to watch the Giants play…”
“Yeah, pretty much.” Max said.
Dr.D rolled his eyes, “Max, Max, Max…” the Doctor said.
