John Cena Vs the Miz and Edge Vs Alberto Del Rio at WWE Wrestlemania 27: Thoughts and Opinions

by tree pony

Last night John Cena won the Monday Night Raw Elimination Chamber match. The Miz also secured a victory over Jerry The King Lawler. This means that The Miz will defend his WWE title against John Cena at Wrestlemania 27. Edge won the Smackdown Elimination Chamber match, which means he will go to Wrestlemania 27 to defend his world heavyweight title against Alberto Del Rio. Both Cena and Edge put up one heck of a fight inside the Elimination Chamber, and the Miz and Lawler did a great job in their match, but I thought that the King was going to win the title, and then lose it to the Miz on the next episode of Monday Night Raw. Nonetheless I thought that the match between Lawler and the Miz was a good match, and it was very entertaining, and Lawler did an excellent job in his fight with the Miz.

As for Edge going to Wrestlemania to face off against Alberto Del Rio, I didn’t see this coming. I was expecting Rey Mysterio to win the Smackdown Elimination Chamber, and then going onto Wrestlemania 27 to wrestle against Alberto Del Rio. Even though this isn’t going to happen now, I am still looking forward to Edge facing Del Rio at Wrestlemania 27. This is going to be a good match, but I do think that Edge will end up delivering the spear to Del Rio, winning the match. However if Edge does end up losing his match at Wrestlemania 27, then I think it will be because of outside interference, but Edge will most likely win the main event at this year’s Wrestlemania.

As far as Cena going to Wrestlemania 27 to face the Miz for the WWE title, a lot of people predicted that Cena was going to win the Monday Night Raw Elimination Chamber, and he did. I think that it is very likely that Cena will go to Wrestlemania 27 and win the match against the Miz. However if the Miz does end up pulling off a win against John Cena then it will most likely be due to outside interference. I would have liked to see Morrison go onto Wrestlemania to face the Miz, but Cena vs the Miz is a good card to have at Wrestlemania.

I think that these two Wrestlemania matches are great matches. Last night was filled with surprises but tonight on Monday Night Raw there is going to be another big surprise, and that is somebody is coming to Raw tonight. It will most likely be the Undertaker or even Sting.

Also at the Elimination Chamber

Vladimir Kozlov and Santino Marella walked into the match as the tag champs, but they left the arena with no titles at all. Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel put on a great performance, and so did Kozlov and Marella, but it was Slater and Gabriel who pulled off a win. Now that Gabriel and Slater are tag champions once again, they will be able to appear on both Smackdown and Monday Night Raw. I think it will be good to see Slater and Gabriel back on Raw for a little bit. I think that the Corre members will go to Wrestlemania 27 and defend their tag titles against two members of the new Nexus.

One of the best divas of all time returned to the WWE at the Elimination Chamber PPV. Trish Stratus came back to the WWE, and it was announced that she would be a trainer on the WWE reality show Tough Enough. This was cool, and I don’t think anybody expected to see Trish Stratus at the PPV last night.

Kelly Kelly was rehired by Teddy Long, and when that was announced, Kelly Kelly came running to the ring and attacked Vickie Guerrero. Michelle McCool and Layla came down to the ring and started to beat on Kelly Kelly, but Trish Stratus came to Kelly Kelly’s aid, and laid out both McCool and Layla.

The first match of the night was Alberto Del Rio vs Kofi Kingston, and this match was predictable, but good to watch. Alberto Del Rio ended up winning the match, and the WWE universe can probably expect to see Del Rio in a few more matches on Smackdown or Raw even, because the WWE will probably try to build up some momentum for Del Rio.

The entire night was explosive and the PPV was worth the money spent.
