Joe Budden is one of the most underrated rappers in the game. He had some success years ago with his single Pump It Up but has generally stayed under the radar of casual fans while producing some amazing material along the way. Joe Budden’s music deals with lots of pain and struggle both in his personal life and his psychological battles with himself but his music is always relatable and that is what makes it so powerful. For this list I chose 9 of what I consider to be the best Joe Budden songs but these are just my opinion and if you have any more to add to the list just leave them in the comments so everyone can discover Joe’s music. So here is my list of Joe Budden’s best songs.
4 Walls– Joe talks about his experiences with ‘It’ which seems to be a mixture of his depression and other mental problems. I’ve got no identity left, victim of identity theft.
Where Did It Go Wrong?- Joe Budden absolutely kills this track. The last few minutes are spent talking about his broken relationship and how she cheated on him and in the process destroyed his heart. Where Did It Go Wrong is definitely amongst the best songs Joe has ever produced, just check out some of the lyrics: Me and her is now, me and you got memories, me and you got love, me and her got chemistry. She’s like a friend to me you like the enemy or maybe she’s there just to cover that resentment b.
Things You Do– A smooth beat and R&B hook but Joe is great at speaking on relationships especially ones that don’t work out.
Forgive Me– This has a similar sounding sample to the next song Angel In My Life but this track stands out on it’s own. I might make threats that I might never fulfill, hoping you’re smart enough to use some will and do as I say out of fear that I will.
Angel In My Life– This song off of Padded Room is absolutely crazy and I mean that literally he talks about being in a straight jacket. Lyrically Angel In My Life is deep and I listened to it so much when I was going through some tough times. I would give you a few lines from the song but the whole thing is a gem.
Survivor 2– I ain’t use drugs they used me.
Broken Wings Freestyle– Freestyle should be used loosely here because nobody can go in on a track like this off the top of the dome. Regardless, Broken Wings is one of Joe’s top songs.
Unforgiven– Unforgiven is backed by a sample of the Metalica song Unforgiven but don’t think that Joe Budden relies on a great beat and hook. He delivers as he always does.
Dear Angela– Another relationship song in which he chronicles in detail the demise of his relationship with the mother of his child. If you have ever been in a toxic relationship this is the track for you.
