Even though they are not that noticeable, there are quite a few everyday families in the “Young and the Restless.” We remember the plight of the homeless in the area from Katherine’s earlier experiences. What about those who don’t have the money or the wherewithal to purchase their own business? Obviously, they leave the city, commute, go to college, or find a job in Genoa City. Following are some of the best-known businesses in the area. Which ones might be hiring right now?
Newman Enterprises is a conglomerate, with Victor Newman as its on-again, off-again CEO. The three divisions are Newman Cosmetics, a real estate unit, and venture capital. Even though there seems to be a lot of internal conflict, it is a good place to work. Perhaps this is the year that Victor has the company party at the Genoa City Athletic Club, giving us a taste of the privileged lifestyles of Genoa City’s well-to-do.
Jabot Cosmetics is owned by Chancellor Industries. The inspirational aroma of fragrance and cosmetics lets chemists, analysts, and accountants recognize it is a good place to apply for work. You’re likely to run into Jill Abbot, Gloria Fisher, Abbot Bardwell, Kevin Fisher, Katherine Chancellor, Cane, and Maggie.
Not the average type of workout facility the rest of us know, Genoa City Athletic Club is where the very wealthy hang out. No one is quite sure who owns the Club, but we do know Gina manages the classy restaurant. If employed here, practice looking good and speaking wisely. Perhaps you will land a rich spouse. Do watch out for swinging fists and tossed whiskey glasses. Tempers seem to flare between the Newmans, Abbotts, Winters, Baldwins, Chancellors, and Carltons.
Chancellor Industries is a major engineering and design company. Tucker McCall edged his way in, creating some excitement. You do not want to work for Tucker McCall. He is the kind of boss that fires people on a whim. Do an excellent job and get recognized by Katherine Chancellor or Cane Ashby with Chancellor Industries Construction Company. Engineer, architects, receptionists, and hard workers are the best choices for this company.
Gloworm is an elegant, upscale nightclub owned by Gloria Fisher and Jeffrey Bardwell. It was the Indigo Jazz Club, owned by Neil Winters, which was recognized as THE place to be for a romantic dinner and great jazz. This is a great place for a chef or his/her crew, a good bartender, top-of-the-line servers, and bus-workers. Do your best regardless of your position: anyone could be here at any time, and the tipping is great.
The CEO of Fenmore’s Boutique is Lauren Fenmore. This stylish businesswoman offers beautiful, chic, often one-of-a-kind styles to wear to special events, Gloworm, or a Presidential Dinner. If you have grace and love beautiful clothes, as well as seeing someone look spectacularly delighted with their purchase, this is a great shop.
The Newman Ranch is Victor Newman, Sr’s refuge. Yes, there are positions for modern day cowboys in Genoa City. Remember that Victor himself has a strong work ethic: no slouching allowed. You’ll find the big boss at the Main House. The Tack House is the home of Nick Newman. Diane Jenkins resides in the Carriage House, and the Caretaker’s House is the home of Sharon Newman. There is a lot of open space on the ranch, and a good place for those who love being around horses that get the best of care.
