Camille Leon sauntered into the ballroom of the Oswald Towers Hotel at eight o’ clock sharp. She looked around the room curiously. She wanted to get to Carlton Wadesbreck before any other woman could. Camille suddenly spotted a prosperous and handsome looking man standing in the corner talking to some other men. She knew he had to be the one she was looking for. Camille sauntered over to him seductively. When she approached him the other men suddenly disappeared and continued their conversation somewhere else. Their eyes met instantly.
“I’m sorry for staring, but I’ve never seen anyone so beautiful before!” Wadesbreck declared. “You’re not so bad yourself.” Camille replied seductively. Carlton took Camille’s hand and kissed it. “I know that we’ve just met, but would you like to go somewhere private and talk?” He asked. “I’d be honored!” Camille replied as he led her out of the ballroom. Unbeknownst to Camille her every move was being watched. At a nearby table sat James and Iris. He kept a close eye on her all night. Little did she know what he was up to. “Hook, line, and sinker.” James whispered to Iris as they watched Wadesbreck lead her away.
Two days later James got word that Wadesbreck would be marrying Camille Leon at the United Anglican Church in London. He knew he couldn’t miss this. Now was his chance to catch the lethal femme fatal.
When Camille entered the church, she walked slowly down the aisle towards Carlton. He was already at the altar waiting for her to arrive. They started the ceremony right away. Neither one had any guests. They wanted an intimate ceremony. Camille watched as the minster took his place in front of them. She noticed something rather odd about him as soon as he appeared. She never met a minister who kept his face covered with a bible before. Something was suspicious about him. Suddenly Camille didn’t feel so comfortable. “We’ve come here today to join this man and woman in holy matrimony, but before we proceed. Is there anyone who thinks this man and woman should not be wed in holy matrimony? Speak now or forever hold your peace.” Suddenly the minister moved the bible from his face. When Camille got one look at James she cringed. “How could you?” Camille cried. “I know pronounce you under arrest!” James replied buoyantly. “This can’t be! You have no proof!” She cried. “I’ve got the wills and the marriage licenses! I would say that I have all the proof I need!” Suddenly two constables came up behind her. They were about to put the shackles on when, James stopped them. “By the way Miss Leon, I’d like to introduce you to a good friend of mine! This is constable Mason!” “No it’s not that’s Carlton Wadesbreck!” Camille howled. “No, this is Carlton Wadesbreck!” From out behind the shadows came the real victim.
“This can’t be happening! Ansel promised me we wouldn’t get caught!” She rattled on. “Here’s a bit of advice for you! Never trust a lawyer!” James replied sarcastically. The two constables led Camille out of the church in shackles. When everyone left Iris walked over to James. “You were great today! I think your plan was absolutely divine!” Iris raved.”I don’t know I don’t think I make a very good minister!” James remarked.
“By the way how did you find this church?” Iris asked. “Why? Do you like it?” He asked. “Do I like it? It’s beautiful!” She replied. “I’m glad to hear it! We’re getting married in this church!” James replied smiling mischievously. “James Knight, what are you up to?” Iris asked. Suddenly Iris looked up. She was surprised to see her father and mother standing at the entrance of the church. “What are they doing here?” Iris asked. “What? Did you think they would miss their own daughters wedding?” James replied. “Before I marry you, promise me one thing! Promise me that life with you will always be this exciting!” Iris said smiling. “Even if it means getting chased by thugs and narrowly missing death?” James smiled. “I don’t care how exciting life with you gets, just as long as you take me with you!”
