Is There More To Salvation Than This???
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
The reason I ask this is that most believe if they ask Jesus Christ of the Holy Bible into their heart, that is all they have to do to have salvation. However, if you look at some of the things Jesus himself expressed to us, you may see what I am trying to show you here.
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.
First of all, we must take Gods word literally. We must see that God is Spirit and therefore completes the trinity: the Father, Son, Holy Spirit. We are made in their image. Our soul is from the Father; our body is from the Son (Jesus Christ); our spirit is from the Holy Spirit. This is what makes us human beings. This makes us one as God is one in Spirit and truth.
Jesus said to his disciples when they asked him to show them the Father:
If you really knew me, you would know [fn] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”
Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.
We understand that the Holy Spirit is the oil of life. We are made of water, mud with oil of the Holy Spirit. (Without oil in the mud it will not stay together). Just rub your forehead and see the oil on you.
We must understand that the Holy Bible is like many small puzzles that make one big puzzle: each small one can be moved to make another big puzzle. This exemplifies the way you can read a Bible verse one day and how it will fit a situation you need it to fit and then another day that same verse will fit differently to another situation you have. The puzzle will change to show you the truths of God’s word. This is the only book that ever does this. But you must have the Holy Spirit in your life in order to see these things.
Among the gods there is none like you, O Lord; no deeds can compare with yours.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
The only way you can become born again is if the Holy Spirit is in him.
Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and [that] no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost
So many people say they are born again but do not produce fruit. (I’m not a judge, but a fruit inspector).
Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by [his] fruit.
We must do this from the heart and not from the head as we are brought to salvation by the Holy Spirit.
Remember the commercial that All State Insurance had? “You are in good hands with All State.” But you must not forget that you can just walk away from or not pay and these hands will just drop you or let you go on your way. The word of God works the same way. The gift of God, yes is free, but we live in His word in order to keep it.
We will look at some of the parables that Jesus told us about and decipher what they mean and how they apply to our daily lives.
We will look at the parable of the talents:
For [the kingdom of heaven is] as a man travelling into a far country, [who] called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.
Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made [them] other five talents.
And likewise he that [had received] two, he also gained other two.
But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.
After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.
And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.
His lord said unto him, Well done, [thou] good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.
His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, [there] thou hast [that is] thine.
His lord answered and said unto him, [Thou] wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and [then] at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
Take therefore the talent from him, and give [it] unto him which hath ten talents.
For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
God gives you freely his salvation as a light to find your way back to him but simply doing nothing after His incredible gift may be the problem. If you freely let the Holy Spirit in your life you can’t help but share the love of your salvation with others. By doing nothing at all may have you possibly lose what was freely given.
As we just have read the master that gave the talents is Jesus Christ. Now that Jesus’ physical body has departed us, He has sent us the Holy Spirit to help us to be fruitful in many areas of our lives. For in:
[[A Psalm of David.]] The earth [is] the LORD’S, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
All that belongs, is given by the Lord.
But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for [it is] he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as [it is] this day.
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither [can] a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Now, when Jesus returns to receive His children, those that have given much for the Lord will be given even more than one can imagine. Even those that have given little will receive a reward, but those that have done nothing with their salvation will be taken away and be put out into utter darkness where there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity
We will look at the parable of the ten virgins.
Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
And five of them were wise, and five [were] foolish.
They that [were] foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
But the wise answered, saying, [Not so]; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
Again in this parable the bridegroom is Jesus for we call him the bride of Christ.
We must also look at who are the wise and who are the foolish. We see that both the wise and the foolish virgins have lamps. Remember Jesus said in:
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
We must stand up and be counted for the gift that was given.
“Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning;
The spirit of a man is the lamp of the LORD, Searching all the inner depths of his heart.
We are the lamps and we must keep our lamps burning and have enough oil to keep them burning. (Oil of the Holy Spirit).
The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
We see the bridegroom is a long awaited guest. Christians are the lamps, but many of them have no oil today. Many so called Christians have become like the virgins they have gone to sleep.
I have never seen any minister tell the Church that the gift of God is freely given but you must be continually filled with the oil of the Holy Spirit so that their lamps will continue to burn. If we do not do this we are going to go back into the world that is dying. This world lives in darkness but put a lit lamp in the middle of it then you will see it from afar.
Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed [is] he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
All Christians must look at themselves to see if they are a sheep or a goat or by that token, a goat in sheep’s clothing.
Some people say that once you are filled with the Holy Spirit that is it. But this is a lie.
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
Let him who does wrong continue to do wrong; let him who is vile continue to be vile; let him who does right continue to do right; and let him who is holy continue to be holy.”
If we continue to put up our hands and give fully to the Holy Spirit, He will fill us to over flowing.
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.
You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
The enemy has deceived many believers to think they are saved by simply accepting Christ, but this makes them as foolish as the virgins in the parable.
For my thoughts [are] not your thoughts, neither [are] your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
We need to renew our mind so the mind can be transformed by the Holy Spirit.
In the last day, that great [day] of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
“Come to me and drink.” What do we drink? The living water, the Holy Spirit, freely.
We are to be the light of the world and the light is Jesus Christ. We must use and be one with the Holy Spirit, which is the oil that will keep our lamps burning strong. We can accomplish this by reading God’s word and by being used by God and we can as long as we relinquish ourselves to the Holy Spirit to be used by him for the Glory of the Father through Jesus Christ our Lord.
But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
In conclusion, we must look at the word of God literally for what it says. Salvation is Free but Jesus is telling us that we must do something with that gift or we will lose it. Satan will let you have all the religion you want but desires that you do nothing about it for he knows then you will lose it. Like I said, we may have salvation freely but we must do something to keep it. Satan wants you to do nothing at all. If you do something for Jesus Christ then see what will wait for you in heaven. We must understand we are not of this world but visiting it now that you are working in the Holy Spirit; for we are nothing without him.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Please take this to heart for the worst thing that can happen to you is that Jesus tells you:
But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. KJV
“But he replied, ‘I tell you the truth, I don’t know you.” NIV
Jesus is coming soon please do not be caught sleeping.
“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.
Please pass this on — Joshua Kim
