Insansity Workout by Shaun T.

by tree pony

Year after year we make the same resolutions and promptly break them 2-6 months into the routine. We say: this year I’ll lose weight, spend less, work less, laugh more etc. Well, this year I was part of the group who ranked weight loss as number one on their resolution list.

Deciding to put myself through one of the hardest workout regimes I would ever experience. I purchased the Insanity Workout by Shaun T.

Insanity is a 60-day workout plan, designed to use your own body weight and will to get you in the best shape of your life. Although Shaun T. films this workout in a gym, it is not child’s play.

What do you get?

You receive ten DVDs: Dig Deeper & Fit Test, Plyometric Cardio Circuit, Cardio Power & Resistance, Cardio Recovery, Pure Cardio & Cardio Abs, Core Cardio & Balance, Max Interval Circuit & Fit Test, Max Interval Plyo, Max Cardio Conditioning & Cardio Abs and Max Recovery. You will also receive a calendar that will guide you through your 60-day transformation and a nutrition guide, which ensures you are feeding your body properly.

How insane is this workout?

Very. You will spend 30-60 minutes on your workout depending on which stage of Insanity you are on. The closer you get to the end of 60 days, the harder and longer you will train. This workout is intense. Long intervals of high-speed intense cardio followed by very brief, 15-20 second water breaks push you to the max. Even the fit test is hard work. What is the fit test? You have a list of exercises; your objective is to do as many of each exercise as you can in a minute. Globe jumps, suicide jumps, power jumps and power knees are just a few. With the possibility of burning 1000 calories per hour, your body will be feeling the burn after day one.

Does it work?

Yes. The Insanity workout is really effective at getting your heart rate up very quickly. There’s no need for special equipment just your own body weight, water and will power. Shaun T. takes you through a quick warm up, a vigorous workout, a quick cool down and stretch, then you jump right back into an even faster intense workout which is followed by a quick cool down. You will never do one thing for long; you are constantly changing exercises and speed. This is interval training at its best, plain and simple.

So, if you are looking for some serious results, wouldn’t mind being stronger, faster and more fit, give Shaun T’s Insanity Workout a try but be warned this workout demands tons of hard work and diligence. Good Luck!
