The Honda Rincon is an all-terrain vehicle that differs from most other models. It has a different transmission that utilizes the oil the engine runs on. It has a large (almost 700 cc) liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that utilizes a lot of torque at lower RPM’s. Therefore, it is important that the oil capacity is full. It is a simple procedure to fill the oil in a Honda Rincon. Honda Rincon Oil Filling
You must be sure that the old oil has been completely drained out and the oil plug replaced. The oil filter should also be changed at this time. Determine the amount of oil required to fill your make and model of Rincon. This information should be included in your owner’s manual. For example, the 2005 Rincon holds 3.7 quarts. Other year models or engines with different accessories sometimes require different amounts.
Now, you must find the oil-filler cap. It is behind a gray or black colored plastic piece on the left side of the engine. It is plainly marked and easily identifiable. The oil filter is on the right side of the engine close to the floor board and behind what is called a kick-panel. Just make sure the new filter is tightened in place.
You will be able to easily unscrew the oil filler cap. Notice that there is an oil-filler line. It is recommended that you fill the oil until it reaches the fill line. Do not overfill or under fill. As stated before the Honda Rincon uses a special transmission that uses the oil for specific reasons. In other words it requires the right amount of the right oil in order to work.
Now you can pour in the required amount of oil to the filler line. Pour slowly and be as accurate as possible. Try not to spill any oil on the engine or any other part of the Rincon. The oil funnel should aid with this. If you happen to spill any oil wipe it off as soon as possible. Spilled oil will burn and discolor a heated engine and old gummed up dirty oil can wreak havoc on many moving parts.
Now you can close the oil filler cap. Start the engine and let it run for five minutes. This fills the new oil filter and other machine parts that require oil lubrication. Turn off the engine and check the oil filler line. It it is low fill to line again. If it is high you may need to drain off a little oil. Usually it is low. If it is right on the line leave it alone. You have now properly filled the oil in your Honda Rincon.
The Honda Ricon requires the EXACT type of oil recommended by the manufacturer. Damage or mechanical failure may result if this recommendation is not followed.
