Taylor Swift turns 21 Dec. 13 and her fans wonder what she will do. Swift has had a very busy year in 2010, even into the holidays.
Amongst other things Swift has to be thankful for this holiday season are the fans which appreciate her songs. Her new album “Speak Now” sold over a million copies in just a week and had some of the best record sales in two years.
In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Swift was very thankful to her legion of fans who bought her CD. She said her parents were ecstatic for her success in addition to being astonished herself.
“I still haven’t wrapped my mind around it how wonderful it is how they did that for me. So I’m going on tour and taking every possibility I can to thank them.”
Her new “Speak Now World Tour” kicks off in Asia and goes to Europe before coming to the United States in late May 2011. Some tour dates have already sold out. Perhaps Swift’s party favors for attendees can be concert tickets with backstage passes.
Once again Swift is on the cover of a magazine and this time it’s “CoverGirl.”People magazine reports she became the new face of cosmetics back in April but Swift’s new cover is debuting soon.
In addition to “CoverGirl,” Swift has been seen on the covers of Elle, Parade, Glamour, People and InStyle. Another party favor idea for Swift can be framed portraits from her photo shoots. She is very photogenic and personable so maybe she can have an extreme makeover party with her girlfriends.
Swift got the holiday season off to a great start with her Thanksgiving special on NBC. She follows it up with “Taylor Swift–Journey to Fearless” premiering on The Hub.
The Hub is a new channel from Discovery Networks and is enjoying success as a new children’s network. Swift’s three night event airs on the network in mid-December or fans can watch online on Hub World, the website for the network. Having a television special around your birthday is always a plus.
Having a birthday near the winter holidays is no big deal for Swift as she enjoys giving gifts more than receiving. She has no idea what she wants for her birthday this year and she doesn’t feel intimidated by having a birthday near Christmas at all.
When she sat down for her interview for Access Hollywood, Swift remarked the press would speculate what she would do since she turns 21. But instead, Swift said she would love to have a Christmas-themed birthday party where everyone gives each other gifts.
The best present to give Swift for her birthday? A few suggestions are to buy a CD or two and maybe some concert tickets. She’ll thank you for it.
