You always have that one person or more in the family that love movies. Here I explain what to buy and where to go. I have it written out in two ideas or really 2 different sections on what to buy. Idea one deals with making a basket for a lover of a specific genre and Idea two deals with buying a movie box set. So hope this is handy.
Basket ideas for any movie genre lover:
My idea of three films from different eras, what to buy to put in the basket, and other stuff to know. The basket idea come from Wal-Mart and the films are wherever you can find them. I would use Amazon, or even at your local pawnshop to save a few bucks.
Horror fans : This is probably the easiest on the list, the three films that would go great are The Haunting, The Wolf Man (new version or old version whichever) and IT. I found the perfect basket the LaMont basket with Pumpkin Design. For the horror fan basket, since this isn’t Halloween of course it’s hard to find some scary designs, I recommend for a twist Nightmare before Christmas notepads, little key chains, and designs. Finding that is pretty easy, either on Hottopic.com or Claires, if you looking for Claires try to local Mall or go on the website.
Gangster/Crime film fans: For your crime fan there are so many I would say must haves are Little Caesar, Donnie Brasco, and Tell No One (went global on that one). I found a simple small lidded box that will work to put movies, and other crime related things in it. Basically all you need to add in this is the quotable Godfather book, a cheap novel about Dillinger, or maybe a crime novel of you choice that you would think your receiver would enjoy.
Romance fans: The must have films are Legends of the fall, Bright Star, and Eat Pray Love. For the basket I chose something that isn’t too expensive and it looks like an open picnic basket that maybe two lovers would share. It’s the Neu Home-Wicker Basket from Wal-Mart. You also want something that can be used again. With the films, fill up the basket with romantic items such as lotion, candy hearts or really any elegant chocolates, and maybe a little fake flowers if you want to really go extreme. All of those items you can find from your local dollar store to your local department store.
Comedy fans: Three funny flicks that work are History of the World Part One, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, and Grownups. Make it fun and carefree by using a bright basket such as the light polka dot Badger Basket. To add in it, I would add like Santa candy coal, those funny reindeer that poop out candy, so really anything that has a sense of humor.
Classic movie fan: The classic movie fan is the ultimate movie fan; they know everything and anything about films. So this is where you go global with your classic films, Throne of Blood (Japan), Pepe Le Moko (French), and Metropolis (German) are ones to share. Just your classic popcorn and classic candy bars work well. The basket that has a classic look is the LaMont London Large Basket.
Action film fan: A favorite genre of mine, personally I would give anyone First Blood, The Expendables, and 13th Warrior. But too make this manly I wouldn’t use a cute little basket, I would use an Army helmet. That would make your present really interesting and full of high octane. So movies and an army helmet what more can you ask for? The Army Helmet can be found on Ebay or at your Army Surplus store.
That would be just some ideas, also want to note that putting coffee mugs, coffee, and cocoa in baskets is another idea that you could use.
