The Golden Globes winners list 2011 will all be revealed tonight. Among the films hoping to make the Golden Globes winners list 2011 are The Social Network, True Grit, The King’s Speech, and Winter’s Bone. It’s hard to predict which movie will be selected for all the major awards, but it is worth noting that it was The Social Network that the Critics’ Choice Awards gave the movie of the year award to this week. Can the film continue its march towards a host of Oscars tonight?
This is typically the first major awards show where the Oscar buzz finally starts taking off, even though many industry analysts have been trying to predict for months which films will be the talk of the town in March. We don’t even know the 2011 Oscar nominations yet though, so there is still a bit of time to worry about that after we enjoy the 2011 Golden Globes awards presentation. This is also supposed to be one of the more “fun” awards shows of the season, blending the best of film and television into one star-studded event where everyone in attendance gets to enjoy the party.
The five films that were nominated for the Best Motion Picture (Drama) of the past year are Black Swan, The Fighter, Inception, The King’s Speech, and The Social Network. Only one can win on Sunday night though, and it is hard to hazard a guess at which one is going to receive the most support from the Hollywood Foreign Press. Guess we will have to all tune in to find out! It will also be very interesting to see how many awards Glee can win for Fox, as that is the most nominated show of all the Golden Globe nominees.
The 2011 Golden Globes will be hosted on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, and will be broadcast live on both coasts. This is one of the rare awards shows that does that for both coasts, allowing viewers all across the country a chance to find out the winners at the same time. The broadcast will be on NBC, with a start time of 5 pm PST and 8 pm EST. Voting will be going out in the coming weeks for the final selection process, and from there it will only be Ernst & Young that knows who the winners are.
