Are you looking for great Bible, religious and Christmas crafts for little ones? Here is a free printable nativity scene with cut and paste coloring pages to make a complete manger scene using paper towel tubes. Catholic Icing (click here) is a nifty mom-made website for young and old. Lacy designs some beautiful coloring pages for children. She’s really outdone herself on this advent nativity scene craft. She created eight coloring pages that you can click and print directly from her blog. Each page features different characters from the nativity scene.
Page one features Baby Jesus in his manger and two camels. Page two has free printable Mary and Joseph figures. Page three features a free printable shepherd and a sheep. Page four has two free printable kings (wisemen) and page five the third king with his camel. Page six has an angel and donkey. Page seven a sheep and palm tree and page eight, the empty stable.
To make this adorable little manger scene, print one set of free printable coloring pages for each child. You have permission to print one for each person so long as you don’t sell anything you make with it. Each child should color the figure and cut and paste to an empty paper towel or toilet paper tube. Stand the paper towel tubes upright to form your 3D nativity scene. This is a green, recycled craft, just in keeping with the holiday and advent spirit. If you run out of paper towel tubes, make a circle with each character. Tape it on the seam. Attach is to a recycled piece of cardboard (from cereal or cracker box). Attach a piece of tape to the base of the figure and to the cardboard to make a 90 degree angle seam.
I recommend that you allow children to color and make one character each day or evening before Christmas as a way to countdown to Christmas. This makes and excellent advent devotional. It also helps young one concentrate during devotion time. There are 15 parts to the nativity scene. You might begin 15 days before Christmas and make one per night. You can also begin later in advent and make the three wisemen and camels for the Epiphany season. Use this free printable manger scene as a response to the Bible stories read during advent. I recommend coloring the free printable activities in this order: stable, palm tree, shepherd, sheep, angel, donkey, Joseph, Mary, Baby Jesus, wiseman, camel.
I won’t link to individual pages on this article, because I want to get viewers to Catholic Icing. She has recipes for advent wreath cookies, advent wreath crafts, coloring pages and lots more Catholic advent and holiday fun. You’ll be glad you visited this site. Here is the link again:
