The young generation are taking their place in the social and political scene of the 21st century very aptly, but a bit of the hippie peace strategy might be beneficial for the tribulation and turmoil that is to follow.
The middle east is taking on a life of their own, finally demanding political justice from their dictators of many years. The trend is catching on fast and spreading like wild fire every time it touches base with bordering nations in the region. Well done, we may agree, but that spark is also hitting home here in America and our demands seem less affective. Why? Perhaps the soft, gentle persuasion of the hippie era past is generating a comeback and we need to hold our ground with whatever it takes. Just like the Evangelical Christian Sects of the past that campaigned to end slavery and cruel sports, riots of a different nature are surfacing to hear individuals speak, many getting out of control as social tensions and violence build up.
Don’t blame the Feds for our poor economy, they have given every state a fair hand-out of stimulus grant money. So where is that money going? You may be surprised to know that some of your State Governments are holding on tight to what was meant for you, the people, while spending the bulk of it on large corporates who will later come back to feed the politicians when election time rolls around.
For record sake, not all States are playing this dirty game. Actually, some states are really doing a great job with the Fed stimulus, creating great opportunities and sanctions beyond what the Feds do. Providing citizens with grants to start home-based, Pa & Ma stores, etc. With unemployment at it’s worst, these individual entrepreneurs can and will make all the difference to serve and grow within the community.
Other states however, are getting a serious F and need to be sieved out and brought to accountability. You have every right to check and demand your local government to pass that stimulus on to you, the citizens of the State.
Most citizens of Southern Utah have been truly disturbed by the extensive stimulus going into over the top road/ highway construction, excessive public transportation (underground, tramways, buses), and beautification of the metropolitan cities of the North, while Southern Utah seems to be totally left out of the stimulus.
With big college towns and senior citizen population in the south, it would be really helpful to have dependable, cheap, regular public transportation connecting the little towns and providing a necessity to the southern community. Instead of over doing it in the north, much of the received Fed stimulus needs to be directed to the south by the big corporate, DOT, which at present seems to be paying it’s top CEOs more than those in states like California and New York.. The need to feed the greed of these CEOs is political and the Southern citizens need to take a stand and soon, before all their stimulus is locked up in the safes of Utah politicians and top CEOs.
If it wasn’t for Governor Gary Herbert, the state would be tied up in so much more corruption. Gary Herbert is the only honest, hardworking government official in Utah, and his sincerity and high values is what keeps its’ citizens alive. Could he run for President someday, maybe, he is the best thing Utah has to offer.
Send in your feed back on your State’s stimulus spending, remember every state got it, how they are using it is up to you citizens to track it and make sure it is being used for YOU!
We will follow up on other state spending with any feed back requests.
