The fantasy football season is winding down and for some this means fantasy football playoffs. Be prepared for good teams to sit their best fantasy football wide receivers in the last two weeks. For those unfortunate souls that drafted Randy Moss it is time to cut the losses and dump him.
Tough to say but Moss has finally jumped the shark in fantasy football and he may never be what he once was. This weeks fantasy football starts may seem obscure but they are key to winning a first week of fantasy football playoffs or get an edge in fantasy football points leagues.
Three Fantasy football Wide Receivers to Start in Week 14 of Fantasy Football
Mike Williams: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Mike Williams has been a great asset to fantasy football owners this season. He currently ranks 25th among fantasy football wide receivers but this week he will face a Washington Redskins pass defense that is hit or miss all season. Now that the season is closing out and Washington is out of the chase, this should be a big game for Williams on the road.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers play well against the lower half of the NFL and the Washington Redskins are definitely the lower half of the NFL at this point of the season. Josh Freeman and Mike Williams have the synergy of a number one wide receiver and quarterback and they always find a way to hook up on the big play. Start Mike Williams in all fantasy football leagues.
Michael Crabtree: San Francisco 49ers
Michael Crabtree has been a disappointment this season but this game could be his statement for next season. This game still has season ending ramifications for both teams but the Seattle Seahawks are in the better position. Seattle’s defense against the pass is ghastly and on the road they are at their worst, giving up over 278 yards per game against the pass. Start Michael Crabtree in all fantasy football leagues.
Jacoby Ford: Oakland Raiders
Jacoby Ford is not the most consistent wide receiver in the world but he is worth a gamble this week against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Everyone will be on the Jacksonville Jaguars this week to beat the Oakland Raiders. This is a typical game that the Oakland Raiders can win and they will do so on the back of their exciting little wide receiver Jacoby Ford.
Jacksonville gives up over 275 yards per game through the air and they are strong against the run. The corners for the Jaguars are weak and can be taken advantage of this game. Start Jacoby Ford as a fantasy football receiver in most leagues unless the next best option is ranked 14th or less.
Three Fantasy Football Wide Receivers to Sit in Week 14 of Fantasy Football
Sidney Rice: Minnesota Vikings
Sidney Rice had the best game of his career last weekend and the Minnesota Vikings won is style. This week Rice and hid Vikings teammates host the New York Giants. The New York Giants defense is strong against the run and tight against the pass.
The New York Giants only give up 181 yards per game. This coupled with the fact that Rice was lights out the previous week is good enough cause to sit him. Sit Sidney Rice in most fantasy football leagues unless the next best option is ranked 12th or less.
Dwayne Bowe: Kansas City Chiefs
The second best fantasy football wide receiver this season is Dwayne Bowe of the Kansas City Chiefs. He has been been money for his fantasy football owners, except for last week. No need to dump him for one bad week but do not fall into the trap of starting him this week.
The San Diego Chargers are stuck and steaming after dropping a huge game to their bitter rivals, the Oakland Raiders. Their own color commentator, Hank Bauer, was ready to go down and smack some sense into the lifeless Chargers. One thing will be certain in this game. It will be brutal and it will be classic AFC West football. Sit Dwayne Bowe in most fantasy football leagues unless the next best option is ranked 13th or less.
Steve Johnson: Buffalo Bills
Sit a fantasy football wide receiver that is ranked sixth overall? The answer is yes when it comes to a fantasy football wide receiver that is dropping balls like they have Vaseline on them. Johnson is dealing with demons and he is a must sit in week 14 of fantasy football.
