Plastic bandages are an item that I utilize on a regular basis. Life is filled with cuts, scrapes, burns and abrasions and plastic bandages are a good item to keep on hand. For a while now, I’ve been using Family Dollar Plastic Bandages in place of the name brand and pharmacy private label brand plastic bandages that I used for several years.
Presented here, as a service to the consumer at large, is an article which offers pertinent information regarding Family Dollar Plastic Bandages.
The standard sized package of Family Dollar Plastic Bandages holds 60 sterile bandages. For several months now, I have been purchasing these bandages and this is the only size package I have seen.
The plastic bandages in this package are all one size : 3 inches x 3/4 inch (76 mm x 19 mm). These are pretty much the standard size for plastic bandages and their size makes them very useful for many types of first aid applications. In physical size, the package measures approximately 4″ x 2.5″.
The regular retail price charged for one 60 count package of Family Dollar Plastic Bandages at Hartford, Connecticut area Family Dollar stores is approximately $1.
Prior to buying the Family Dollar Plastic bandages, I was purchasing plastic bandages at CVS Pharmacy and / or Walgreens Pharmacy, where the regular retail price of store brand and name brand plastic bandages is always significantly higher than $1. Even the sale prices of pharmacy brands are higher than the regular price of the Family Dollar bandages.
As far as I know, Family Dollar Plastic Bandages are normally stocked and sold at Family Dollar stores across America. If your local Family Dollar store does not normally stock these bandages, ask the store manager if they can be ordered and stocked in the future.
Special Features / Comfort
Family Dollar Plastic Bandages are latex free and they feature an absorbent, non stick island pad. The plastic bandages are soft and flexible and they contour easily to whichever part of the body they are being applied to.
These bandages seem a little bit softer than other brands of plastic bandages to me and they are quite comfortable. Also, these plastic bandages offer good, long lasting adhesive / sticking performance.
Quality / Effectiveness
To be honest, I am actually surprised at how effective Family Dollar Plastic Bandages are. Yesterday, I opened the second box of these bandages that I have purchased and I am quite satisfied with their effectiveness. In my humble opinion, these bandages are essentially just as good as most other brands of plastic bandages.
Sometimes, dollar store items look like they would be effective, but their performance is not up to high quality standards. These plastic bandages make me wonder about the pricing of name brand products, when items like this are just as effective, but much lower priced.
Family Dollar Plastic Bandages are packaged in a standard type, cardboard bandage box. The blue and white box is easy to open and it re-closes effectively. Inside the box, the bandages are individually wrapped and the wrappers are easy to open.
If you are trying to save money in today’s troubled economy, purchasing Family Dollar Plastic Bandages in place of name brand bandages is one way to do so. To this reviewer, they are just as good as most other brands of plastic bandages and their retail cost is inexpensive. This product is highly recommended.
