Are you stuck in a style rut? Well don’t fear change because of your finances, age, size or hassle because here is a list of easy things you can do to change things up. They don’t require a brand new wardrobe and are fairly inexpensive measures.
Change your hairstyle.
Try adding layers or bangs. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, stop by your local drugstore and get a box of inexpensive dye or highlights and do it yourself. If that seems daunting and money is tight, simply pay a visit to your nearest beauty school. These institutions charge at least half of the price for services and you can get a very decent job done. Other ways you can freshen your ‘do is add accessories. Try a satin headband, scarf or clips.
Use basic pieces for your wardrobe.
Have a pair of black leggings? Make that your staple for most days and simply put comfy tunic – tops (just long enough to cover your behind) and sweaters. Match that with nearly any footwear. Flats, boots and even black and white sneakers can look extremely cute here. If you don’t have leggings they are very inexpensive and you should invest in a pair! If something that light or tight doesn’t suit you, simply buy some skinny black jeans that have stretch to them. Black is a basic staple and building on black pants is a great way to change up your look!
Jazz up what you have.
Polish up the shoes you have. Then add little bows or jewels to a pair of your favorite black flats. Attatch cute brooches or flower pins to your favorite cardigans. Tie a cute scarf onto your handbag. You can find accessories like this that are very inexpensive at stores in the mall such as Charlotte Russe or even Target.
Accessorize yourself more.
You can’t go wrong with the classics. Wear faux pearls around your neck and/or wrists. Put chunky, inexpensive bracelets on. Wear a cheap, showy cocktail ring. Throw on a thick belt. Start wearing tights with your summer dresses in winter, adding boots and a coat. Try hats – beanies, barets or fedoras. Scarves are also easy to come by and look fabulous throughout nearly every season.
Try a different makeup look.
You can buy liquid eyeliner for as little as $2 at the drugstore. Try doing winged eyeliner! Another idea is simply add some bold lipstick to your look. Red or black nails always look classy and modern. Start giving yourself manicures and feel your confidence soar! Timeless beauty looks can definately work for anyone of any age and give you a fresh look.
Get your glow on.
Is your pasty skin starting to give your mood the blues? Try using some sunless tanning lotion. They are fairly inexpensive and as long as you don’t over-do it, they are pretty foolproof. Just be sure you exfoliate extremely well and apply the sunless tanner evenly over your skin. If you’d prefer to stay away from tinting your skin that way, you can try liquid bronzing lotions (which wash off when you shower) or simply adding the powdered compact kind to your cheekbones, nose and décolletage.
Lift your spirits with a new scent.
Stop by your local Bath & Bodyworks and pick up a travel-sized body mist or lotion for around only $5. It’s a great pick-me-up without a hefty price tag. Another great place to check for sales on fragrance is Victoria’s Secret. Their body mists aren’t too pricy and also smell fabulous.
