This year, make some of these easy Christmas ornaments with your kids. These are some of the best Christmas crafts for kids that the internet has to offer.
I love this! This easy Christmas craft is simple enough for the youngest child to do with a little help, and fun and cute enough for an older child to do independently. Even Mom or Dad might like to get in on the act. It includes not only written instructions, but an instructional video, as well.
This shows you how to use those little wooden cubes that you see at the craft store, to make Christmas ornaments to decorate a tree. This looks like something my daughter would love to do because it involves paint. It tells you to use regular white glue to attach the ribbons. However, I would suggest using hot glue-especially if you want these ornaments to last from season to season.
Puzzle Piece Ornaments
This is an entire page devoted to showing you how to use old puzzles to make easy Christmas ornaments. It shows how to make a candy cane, a Christmas tree, reindeer, and many more ornaments. If you have left-over puzzle pieces, see my article, Homemade Christmas Gifts Kids Can Make, to see how you can use them to make a cute little picture frame to give to friends and family this Christmas.
Light Bulb Snowman
This one looks like a lot of fun to make. Use your old lightbulbs, the paper mache technique, and a few inexpensive supplies, to make this adorable snowman ornament to decorate a tree.
This is a cute little penguin ornament. All you need is cardstock paper, a printer, scissors, and glue.
Reindeer Craft Treat Holder
This shows you how to make a very nice, but easy Christmas decoration using only a terracotta clay pot and a few other simple supplies.
Christmas Jingle Bell Door Hanger
This easy Christmas ornament is simple enough to do with younger children, but would be satisfying even for older children and adults. When you are finished, you have a very nice, sturdy decoration, that you will be able to use for many years to come. A picture is included that shows the finished product, but you can get creative with this and design it to suit your decorating style.
Hands and Feet Reindeer Craft
This Christmas craft is a sweet little project to do with your younger children, but I think a lot of older children would enjoy it as well. Kids will love tracing their hands and feet to make the reindeer. And parents will enjoy this as a keepsake. This might be fun to do with your children from year to year to watch how they grow. Use foam craft paper instead of construction paper to make this more durable.
These are just a few ideas for Christmas ornaments you and your children can make this holiday season. Set aside an afternoon, or even a day or two, and spend time together making a few of these. Your kids will love it!
